Ok so I have done all the verbal reasoning tests in Kaplan and did 3 AAMC VR tests. My average percentage is around 50-60% (a score of about a 7). Am I the only one who really sucks at this? My MCAT test is in one week and I don't know what to do. Are the tests harder/longer than the real MCAT or what???? Because some of this stuff is just plain rediculous, I have NEVER finished the whole test (always have 1-2 passages left), even when I try to read as fast as I could and cheat my way through (by skimming without actually understanding anything) to finish the whole test I still get bad marks.
Please any help?

The AAMC VR tests are pretty much similar to the real thing (some posters say the real thing's passages are longer, but I disagree and think they're pretty much the same length and I just took it Thursday). AAMC and the real thing ask different types of questions than Kaplan generally. Are you doing the mapping strategy? Because if you are then definitely stop doing it because that wastes too much time and is wasteful. Pretty much just get the gist of the passage as you're reading it and answer the questions based on the gist. If you're stuck on a question, Guess, Mark and move on. If it is the detail questions that are wasting you're time, mark them and come to them at the end. It sounds like it's your timing that's killing you, so somehow don't get bogged down; get the gist, answer and move on. READ, READ, READ over this next week and hopefully you'll improve
