It's hot in So Cal, so I just had my land lady cut my hair and then i shaved it down with a razor.

I'm getting ready for the transition baby!!

I've had my head shaved since I was about 12 (not with a razor -- just clippers with no guard). I love it. Not only is it great for hot days (I live in Houston so we get plenty of those) but it's also great because you never have to worry about combing your hair or paying for haircuts :)

I cannot believe I got a post on this one!!:)

I'm asian and I've got this van **** goatee thing going as well, so I'm looking pretty tough. This guy that I ran into asked me i joined a frat (i.e. getting hazed).

I used to shave my head with clippers and no guard when I was doing landscaping as a summer job. I burnt the top of my head more times than I can remember and eventually resorted to using a really thin spray-sunblock every day on my hair/scalp. Seems like you might have similar problems in Texas!

Yeah, I've had my share of burnt scalps. I usually wear a hat if I know I'm going to be outdoors for extended periods of time.

Alright, it's official that will be allSDNers mandatory 'hairstyle'. That way we will be able to quickly identify ea. other.;) We need some kind of dresscode around here!!!! I'm tired of you guys typing on this forum in your shorts and t-shirts.

Van **** beard? Very hot---a definite chick magnet!!!!:D

Is it a REAL Van ****? (think Robert DeNiro in the Deer Hunter)

I'll second the idea of making shaved heads the official "hairstyle" -- females included :)

My girlfriend and I have an ongoing joke about that. She can't stand facial hair so everytime I tell her I want to grow a beard she tells me that she'll shave her head if I do. I tell her to go ahead, knowing that there is no way in h#%$ she'd actually do it

Unfortunately, it's more of a a regular goatee, than a van ****. I think a true van **** isn't quite me yet.

yeah, my gf doesn't like facial hair either, but i'm up here and she's in l.a., so...........

Ahhh....tossing tortillas high into the air...hot, sweaty commencement ceremony in Aldrich Park under an oppressively bright summer sun in heat absorbing black gowns...gawd I miss UCI! Good times....good times....

Oh, and the graduation photo in front of the fake brick wall...I'll treasure it always.

I usually get my sides and back of my head shaved down in Little Saigon....typical asian haircut, but without the spiky top...keeps me well ventilated.

I'm desperately trying to tan my melon now that i've exposed it, but there's no f^&$in' sun in San Francisco!!! I'm gonna meet and friend after work and play catch at the beach until the sun goes down (if there is any sun, it's been raining domesticated animals up here in sf)

I work pt at Gap, so I went to the mandatory district store meeting with my shaved melon and got some curious looks from the posers that work at the other stores. It felt good;)

This does bring up the question that we've kinda broached before. How much does working affect your disbursement during school? For pharm interns: How much does the intern salary mitigate your award amt?

I shaved it down again. Some other dude in my class beat me to it, but I've got a cooler shaped head. Right Liz, BMB?

Wow, this post seems so long ago. My roomate was going to shave his head, so I convinced him to go mohawk. Yes!, I shaved my first mohawk! He got too much crap, so he shaved it off after a day. I guess a mohawk isn't so professional - who knew?

My partner had her hair all punked out and pink. She's forty five years old. It was cute in a geeky parental sort of way.

As for the mohawk, I would consider it but the male pattern baldness ruins the effect

I convinced this other guy in my class to shave his head for next week. We'll see if he follows through.

It takes about half of a minute to wash one's hair in the shower. So you get about an extra 15 minutes per month.
