In VR section, I tend to miss (random guesses without even reading) about 12-16 questions (...2-3 entire passages). While many of you have already given me some guidance...I am working on it!

QUESTION: Considering I am a slow reader and all...how would you advise me regarding USING LAST 5 MINUTES of the VR section? Reason: During my last 5 minutes, I am either on pasage 5 or passage 6. It takes me 9-10 minutes to read 1 passage regardless of its length...and I quickly answer questions...Howeverm when I have only 5 minutes remainng...I can neither finish the passage nor even guess (unlike PS and BS)...

So, please help me.........

That's my advice to you. If you want, skip a paragraph at the beginning or end, and then re-read it if you must.

On my real thing I got to my last VR passage with 5 minutes left. In this situation, I read the first and last paragraph in their entirety, then just read the first sentence of each of the other paragraphs. This would give me enough time to make an educated guess for each question. The problem is, I need mostly silence for concentration on VR, but many other people were on the WS which screwed me entirely and I constantly lost my concentration

My advice. Learn to read faster.

This problem will haunt you into medical school. And you'll have the same challenge with step 1.

Some of the shelf exams get a bit ridiculous as well in terms of question length.

Practice a bunch, learn to skim for important points. It can only help you!

Look into the eyeQ program. It can dramatically increase your reading speed, and it's easy to use and isn't something that requires an awful lot of time or outside reading. It essentially trains your eyes / brain to start processing information faster.
