Ok, so there was a new law enacted recently that basically makes it so you have to be a registered tech to work in a pharmacy. You MUST be registered now, no ifs and's or buts.

Is it better to have work experience? or volunteer experience? Specifically to texas schools though? Although I'm sure it varies from school to school.

I was just told by a 4th year pharmacy student that UH doesn't really care if you've worked in a pharmacy, they just want to see volunteer work.

Thats all fine and good, but I'm going to have to work this next semester to support myself, and I figured I could kill two birds one stone by becoming a registered tech, getting valuable experience that looks good on my application, and getting paid for it..

Thoughts?

Is volunteer work better for a pharmacy school app than work experience? or does it just vary to each school's preferences?

Thanks
