Hey all, this is a question for any graduating M4s who interviewed at UPenn this past year (by the way, congrats on getting your MDs!!). The UPenn website pretty clearly states that they expect all residents to do a year of research (on top of the 4 years of AP/CP or 3 years of AP training). However, on the new path minimafia website :) , someone replied that he/she matched there this year and research is NOT a requirement. Anyone have the final word on this? Thanks!

Bump...

Didn't anyone interview at UPenn? I thought it was supposed to be one of the top programs...

If anyone has info, I'd really appreciate it!

Hello Ludy!

I did indeed interview at Penn, and I have a buddy who's a first year in the program. No one ever informed me of a research year. In fact, they felt I would be done in 3 years due to the PSF credit.

Fabulous! Thanks for the info, Mindy! I'll keep Penn near the top of my list then. I'm waiting to hear how your first year in the "trial-by-fire" method of MGH goes before I dare to bump them into my top five ;) Enjoy your last few weeks off!
