Hi I am wondering if I should take the MCAT in June of this year. I need to receive a score of 24...8's on each section. I have the EK complete study package and am doing the chapters each week. I am also a freshman.
Thank You... all help is appreciated

It's far too early and you must complete ALL of your pre-reqs before taking the MCAT.

With how many classes we are suppose to take in the program...I will not be able to take all of the pre-req classes. If I wait till after summer I will have physics I and II completed and if I wait till after fall I will have o-chem I completed.

You haven't given us much details so we can't really tell you when you should take it. That said, a 24 is pretty low so you should be able to get that without all the pre-reqs. I'd say try to get the physics you mentioned and orgo 1 in but you certainly don't need orgo 2 for a 8 in BS.

oh....I took the kaplan practice MCAT back in fall before studying from the EK and I recieved a 6 on Verbal, 5 on Physics and Bio....I am on my 5th week of EK home study guide and plan on to re-study all of the chapters in the EK after I go through it the first time...in-between I also plan on taking few AAMC #7-10 practice exams....I would do all of this before the June 17 test day

Is it possible to wait until AFTER you complete all your pre-requisites before you take the MCAT? Doing so will give you a much easier time studying for the MCAT.

After this year, I will have completed one year of chemistry and biology. After summer I will complete one year of physics and will be taking o-chem in the fall. I will need to pass (8's on each section) the mcat by march of 2011. It is not possible for me to complete the o-chem pre-reqs before taking the test.

24 might be low for some people, but taking MCAT without the pre reqs hoping to get 24 is setting up yourself for failure. If you research SDN you will find many posts from people who after finishing their pre reqs have taken diagnostic test and received only 17!
3 months is definitely not enough time to acquire solid foundation in sciences or develop intuition and good test taking strategies.
on the side note, I doubt there aren't any med schools that will be satisfied with score of 24.
Anyways, good luck!

I am in a dual-admissions 2yr program and I just need to receive a 24 and maintain my GPA and I would be able to matriculate. That's why I am trying to take the MCAT in June otherwise I would wait.
