Which path would give you the best shot at a Sleep Fellowship....a Psych residency with more name recognition vs. a Neuro residency that isn't as well known/regarded?

Thanks

Since either way you are unlikely to end up doing 100% sleep as a career, I would pick whichever one you like doing more.

Fair enough, I appreciate the sentiment. However, I'm still curious as to how a Sleep Fellowship would view applicants in the framework of the original question. Assume the qualifications of the applicants are the same, the only difference is that one went into Psych at a program that is well known, and the other went into Neuro at an average program.

slight advantage for the neuro applicant, unless the sleep fellowship was run by the dept of psychiatry

Univ of Mississippi

I think Dartmouth is technically multidisciplinary but heavily influenced by psychiatry.

Pittsburgh (2 year research sleep fellowship)
