Anyone know what the deal is with the 3 vs 5 day zithromax packs? I mean, the doses are the same (500 mg/pill) so how can the efficacy be equal with 2 less days of tx? :rolleyes:

The 5-day Z-pak consists of 6 250mg pills. Patients take 2 pills the 1st day (500mg), then 1pill/day (250mg) for the next 4 days. The 3-day Z-pak is 3 500mg pills, and patients take 1 pill/day (500mg) x 3days.

So 3 days at a higher dose vs. 5 days of a lower dose -- it's supposed to be the same efficacy. :)
