Is there anyone who has done/is in/will be doing the Oto-facial plastic surgery track (D.O.)?
Any general thoughts on the programs (a la scutwork.com type comments)?

I am a maxillofacial surgeon with a specific question to DO otolaryngologists "facial plastic" guys: Do you guys ever do rotations at hospitals that have more than just DO's? My question is this. I am going to a community where there is a young DO ENT. My partner and I went to get privileges at the hospital and the MD ENT (who is on the credentialling committee) saw our credentials and saw our cases and signed off on our privileges. When the DO ENT saw our requested privileges, he freaked out calling us dentists. I've never been treated by an MD ENT with such ignorance. I asked myself if it was just that DO ENT's get no experience sharing call rotations with OMFS? Can anyone on this threat comment?
I noticed where the MD ENT went to residency and he had an OMFS residency at the same location where as the DO residency is some place in Ohio I've never heard of. Maybe his lack of exposure I guess?

Moving to the ENT forum where I think you'll get more responses...

Wow, what an old thread to bring back. In either case, anyone have any new insights into the DO ENT oto-facial plastic surgery residencies?
