Hello everyone,
I was wondering what your thoughts are when considering an applicant with a masters degree but low MCAT score of 21M.
Should I bother to apply? Does the MCAT even matter anymore when I got my masters degree in biomedical science?
Any input is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

A score of 21 is just way too low for matriculation into an allo school. The masters will only help if its an SMP like the one at Georgetown, and it is only useful to those with low ug GPAs. I think the Georgetown SMP requires at least a 30 MCAT to enter the program anyways.
You would be better served to just spend your time hardcore studying for the mcat while beefing up ECs if your GPA is decent.

Overall, ugGPA ~ MCAT >> Masters gpa
It is especially annoying for people who got advanced degrees, but your undergrad gpa and MCAT are the most important statistical factors.
If your undergrad gpa is good, you will still need to retake the MCAT. If your ugrad gpa is not good, you may need to retake the MCAT and possibly do an SMP to make up for it.

Most schools have algorithms to screen out people with low MCATS without anyone even looking over the application. But they will have no problem taking your money:)

I suggest you hold off applying for this application season. You need to get a higher MCAT score to get any consideration at US MD schools (or DO).
