View Full Version : Someone who lives near UMass Boston
Does anyone know the address to send the Clinical Psyc app for U Mass Boston? No address is listed on the website (http://www.umb.edu/academics/cla/dept/psychology/gradadmission.html) and it's due tomorrow so I'll need to fed-ex tonight (no time to call).
Any help would be appreciated!
bunderj 11-30-2010, 04:30 PM It seems to say everything is due in the Graduate Admissions Office, right?
I searched the Graduate Admissions Office on the UMASS site and it gave me:
Graduate Admissions
100 Morrissey Blvd.
Boston, MA 02125-3393
I'm not applying there though, so I am not 100% sure. Sorry!
ClinChildPsy13 11-30-2010, 06:09 PM Uhoh - this is where I sent mine:
Graduate Admissions
100 Morrissey Blvd.
Boston, MA 02125-3393
However, I sent it several weeks ago and nothing I sent has been posted as being received yet :scared:, so I am hoping that is the right address!
amk22 11-30-2010, 07:03 PM The address above is the one I used too. I sent my online app in 11/9 and got an email saying that I "would receive a list of credentials shortly." I found it odd that this never came. My status online says they haven't received some of my stuff although I sent it awhile ago- this has happened with some other schools I'm applying to as well, and I've called most of them- what I've been told is that it takes a while to sort the stuff into your file and that I shouldn't worry about it (yea ok) if I sent it and it hasn't been returned. So much of the app at UMass is paper based so I'm guessing (/hoping) the process of getting stuff sorted into individuals files is even more delayed there than most schools.
Does anyone know if there is any same-day mail service where you can ship something and then it arrives at its destination on the same day as you ship it? I missed the mail service last night and app is due today :(.
Thanks for y'all's help! I got my application prepared last night and wrote the address y'all gave me on the envelope and went to fed-ex but apparently I missed their last pick-up of the day so I couldn't send it in :(. Fail. Anyone know of a same-day mail service?
PS: it sucks that they haven't sorted out people's app materials yet. Slackers.

Looks like DHL has one: http://www.dhl-usa.com/IntlSvcs/detail/sameday.asp?nav=USServices/IDeliveryServices/AirExpress
and UPS: http://www.ups.com/content/us/en/shipping/same-day-delivery.html
Thank you so much, GreenPsych!! =)
FYI, to use UPS' same day service, you have to have an account set up in advance (it takes more than a day to set up a UPS account). And the best DHS could do was have it be delivered at 8:30 PM tonight for $300. So I opted out of that marvelous offer.
I just wanted to let y'all know in advance so y'all are careful not to miss your application deadlines too!
But thank you anyway so much, GreenPsych! It was so nice of you to help out and I really appreciate it.
AcronymAllergy 12-01-2010, 07:22 AM Also, keep in mind that for some programs, the application deadline refers to when the materials must be postmarked rather than when they must be received. That differs from school to school, though.
Therapist4Chnge 12-01-2010, 07:58 AM I wouldn't be too concerned about it.
Do you think maybe I should send the application in late? I could send it next-day mail ... or I could just send it regular mail, since I'm already late anyway why waste the money if it probably won't be considered. The website says that "Applications are due in the Graduate Admissions Office by December 1".

I would still send it...you never know. It is worth a shot, and in the long run, taking the chance is probably worth the app fee.
Awesome! I'll send it then. Thanks for y'all's help!
Markp 12-01-2010, 09:32 AM I would PDF it and send it as an email to someone in that part of the country to hand deliver... I am sure that you can find someone to do that for you.

Whoa - amazing idea, Markp! Thank you so much! I'll post a thread about it!
As per MarkP's suggestion, I'd like to ask anyone who lives near UMass Boston to do me a huge favor! I'd like to send my application to you via email and have you hand deliver it to the graduate school today for me because I wasn't able to mail it on time.
It would be greatly appreciated!
Student4Life0 12-01-2010, 09:41 AM That is a good idea! Unfortunately, I live two hours away :( good luck though!
erg923 12-01-2010, 09:45 AM Please keep us updated on if this actually works. It would be a huge milestone for SDN. :D
Most definitely will do! I know - it would be huge!! Wait for it... ;)
