View Full Version : Do you plan to do a fellowship after OB/GYN residency? Kiki2004 08-14-2003, 05:18 PM  Global Disrobal 08-14-2003, 05:23 PM Allow me to clarify my vote: HELL NO! 4 years is more than enough. Bring on the benjamins(and no sleep) Doc Ivy 08-14-2003, 05:33 PM Most definitely. Plain old vanilla OB just doesn't have the luster it once did for me. So I'm shooting for maternal-fetal. I think that combines my desire to work with complicated patients, do surgery, and still maintain continuity of care with women and their families, oh and the median income for subspecialists is slightly higher, which offsets the malpractice premiums. jd807 08-14-2003, 07:34 PM I am really interested in Uro/Gyn. Not too many programs have fellowships in it, but I think that will have changed by the time I am done. Global Disrobal 08-14-2003, 11:20 PM what does UroGyn exactly entail in practice? I've heard of it but not looked into it much neilc 08-15-2003, 09:23 AM i would love some more info on urogyn as well. i was pretty interested in uro, but it seems a tough match for an IMG...thought urogyn might be pretty cool as well. is it a long fellowship? Doc Ivy 08-31-2003, 01:06 PM neilc, all OBGyn fellowships are 3 years. Doc Kiki2004 09-03-2003, 07:42 PM however, if you are considering gyn-onc...most programs are 4 years. I'm at UC-Irvine right now and I know their program is 4 years- urogyn is 3 years. |
