HI, ive heard that ophtho is pretty competative, really competative actually. I am seriously considering the field, but only started doing so last semester. All i have done, ophtho wise, is go and learn a little more about the field by going to the OR at 6 in the morning till 12 and occasionally going to clinics. Im starting my second block of third year. I took the step one and only got a 228/92. I have no idea how good/bad of a score that is, esp for optho. Is that board score not competative enough? And what can i do to help my chances? I was thinking of doing one block of optho research, but aside from that, research wise, if i plan on not taking any years off, i dont know if ill be able to put in any more time in research than that now that im already in third year. Any help would be appreciated.
