I'm an intern on HPSP with four yr obligation. I'm looking at just doing four years of GMO and getting out. I'm trying to figure out if I would be able to apply for a civilian residency to start when my obligation is up in 2015. How can I find out exactly what day my (active duty) Army obligation will be finished? My LES has a bunch of 8's under ETS.

You can ask PSD at your current hospital command. That said, unless you have some strange interruption (i.e. internship took you a few extra months for some reason), you will finish your four years in June, just in time to be a civilian PGY-2 in July.:xf:

Don't give up the ship just yet. Did you match for a residency position? It might be better just to get it over with and leave after your utilization tour.

Nope, didn't match for residency. Again. Also, have it on good authority that I won't match next year due to my dismal board scores. Who knew gen surg would be so competitive in the Army? Anyway, ready to give up and get out.

What is a PSD? I figure I should verify dates, since I heard the Army can make it hard for ppl to try to get out without doing a residency.

Your detailer should have your EAS date.
