http://medical-mastermind-community.com/uploads/usmle-gold-standard.jpg (http://medical-mastermind-community.com/blog/raffle-for-lifetime-membership)

How does the Medical Mastermind Community help students?

Teach you the ever-popular Success Story Format to turn difficulties into a focus on the positive character benefits you received
Increase your confidence for interviews
Provide mock interviews for practice, practice, practice
Teach you the Myers-Briggs personality types to understand who’s interviewing you
Lavish feedback on your personal essay to make it outstanding
Formally train you on all of the components of the medical school application way in advance
Help you overcome self doubt (arguably the biggest benefit for your entire life)

"The single largest statistical hurdle in the entire medical education journey happens during the Post-MCAT Year(s) – getting medical school interviews!"

More people do not navigate this phase of their career successfully than all other phases combined!
The reason is not necessarily because of low GPAs and MCAT scores because many people with the lowest scores talk themselves out of even applying.
A number of critical events happen in the Post MCAT Year(s) that the vast majority of students are never fully taught how to dominate:

Telling the success story of your life
Writing a compelling and memorable application
Explaining difficulties positively and emphasizing carefully selected character traits
Interviewing skills
Writing the personal essay with humility and evidence of successes
Not applying to the right number and types of medical schools

The tragedy is that most of these failures are preventable, yet they cause so many people to give up.

So, what is the Medical Mastermind Community and how can it help?
A “Mastermind” group is defined as two or more people, working in perfect harmony toward a definite objective. Therefore, the Medical Mastermind Community is a group of people (students in college and medical school, doctors, test prep companies, and government entities) interested in the success of premedical students.
“Your membership to the Medical Mastermind Community is a monthly investment in your future.”

By surrounding yourself with people who already possess the qualities you want, you will slowly acquire a different way of thinking, studying, and organizing your plans to accomplish the goals you want in your own life.
Perhaps a parent or mentor has told you to “choose your friends wisely.” Well, if you want to become a physician, you can’t find better friends than this! But don’t take our word for it, read our Medical Mastermind Community testimonials (http://medical-mastermind-community.com/testimonials)to see for yourself the difference we are making in people’s lives – it’s much more than a test score!
When you join the Medical Mastermind Community, you will gain immediate online access to our entire curriculum. It can seem overwhelming, so we enroll you in a monthly email series to gently walk you through the steps and help keep you on track.
The very first thing you need to do is listen to Napoleon Hill’s Science of Personal Achievement audio course (http://medical-mastermind-community.com/member-content/getting-started), which is included with your membership. If you get nothing else out of your training with us, your life will be immensely blessed by the teachings and philosophy of the world’s first success teacher, commissioned by Andrew Carnegie himself!
The second thing you need to do is join us on a New Member Webinar (http://medical-mastermind-community.com/blog/mastermind-groups). Whether you call in or login to view the slideshows, this teleconference will give you specific direction for your particular situation so that you can start getting results in your own life and join the long list of people that tell their friends all about us!
The third thing you need to do is visit the “My Blog” forum and start a New Thread titled by your first and last name. This is a members-only forum and you can not view others’ forum posts there until you pay for an active membership. This private, personal blog is for you to post your action plan and document your progress. Some choose to get feedback on their personal essays there, as other members of the Community love to help each other out.

I would have to agree that self doubt/lack of confidence is one of the biggest obstacles that student face. Sounds like a great tool.

That is exactly why the Medical Mastermind Training (http://medical-mastermind-community.com/pre-med/the-success-story-format-2)starts out as lesson number 1 of 17: Fire Your Inner Critic. There are videos and workbooks, and recently we had the Napoleon Hill Science of Personal Achievement course included too.

The peer-reviewed literature actually discusses this topic and calls it the "Imposter Phenomenon".

I dedicated an entire Medical School Podcast (http://medical-mastermind-community.com/category/podcast) episode to it. You can listen for free here:

Perfectionism vs. The Imposter Phenomenon (http://medical-mastermind-community.com/podcast/perfectionism-versus-the-imposter-phenomenon)

I also notified the Medical Mastermind Community newsletter (http://medical-mastermind-community.com/blog/welcome-to-the-medical-school-podcast) recipients that I would be hosting my own, separate raffle for a Lifetime Membership. To qualify for that one, get in here this week and generate some quality discussion so that we can all learn something!

I would imagine that the interview can make or break you. I would assume that once you make it to that point, you are on fairly equal ground with the rest of the applicants?

You are right, Doctor.

As a general rule, the fact that a medical school or residency applicant (http://medical-mastermind-community.com/pre-med/the-success-story-format-2) has been asked to a medical school interview (http://medical-mastermind-community.com/blog/medical-school-interview) or residency interview (http://medical-mastermind-community.com/blog/medical-school-interview) means that the academics are ok.

To be simplistic, it is a personality contest at that point.

For a long time, I misunderstood what that meant and have had wonderful success teaching the Medical Mastermind members (http://medical-mastermind-community.com/compare) the difference between being nice on interview day (a personality contest mindset) and true character development.

The Success Story Format (http://medical-mastermind-community.com/pre-med/the-success-story-format-2) I teach is powerful technique because it not only provides a simple outline for you to follow for writing your essays, but provides you the framework to look at your past differently.

This format pulls out the benefits and life-impact that seemingly negative experiences have added to your life.

When you show up on interview BELIEVING that and also have a well-developed personality and are in a positive and light mental attitude, then you are TRULY what is missing in many academic centers and you will be considered a blessing.

This sounds interesting. What have been the empirical results of your training? How do students going through your training compare (statistically) to acceptance rates of the general population?

We are collecting data right now to answer that very question and are submitting a grant to the N.I.H. to provide our mentorship services to disadvantaged students.

The American Institutes for Research has taken on this project because of its merit.

The unique value is that we teach much of the same material (often better) than is taught in brick and mortar post-bach PreMed programs, but it is done remotely so class sizes aren't limited to 20-100 people. Programs such as these in the U. C. system, for example, cost about $8,000 per student and people don't balk at that cost at all. Funny, how something new meets such scrutiny, isn't it?
