vicinihil 03-06-2011, 08:22 PM Hi USMLERx,
I used Flash Facts about a year back and I loved the product because it helped me get to know First Aid inside and out. However, I noticed that the cards were in order according to the page in First Aid and became very predictable on what the next card or question is going to be making it less "high yield." Has a randomize option become available since I last used the product?
kryptik 03-07-2011, 01:22 AM why is there no flash cards for step 2 ck ?
twoinone 03-07-2011, 05:31 AM is it possible to make a test from all the questions or are they just discrete questions only? thanks!
soccerman3 03-07-2011, 05:36 AM What exactly does this 100% pass guarantee mean?
Day man 03-07-2011, 06:31 AM When will the 2011 page references be updated? Small, but fairly annoying, detail for those of us who purchased the 2011 ed. of the book.
bestmed 03-07-2011, 07:18 AM How many self assessments are there in Step 1 Qmax?
How accurate are these assements to the actual USMLE scores, and how do you calculate the correlation?

zalato5 03-07-2011, 08:55 AM Does the question bank allow one choose questions in blocks of office, ER, Inpatient, Community clinic etc. like the Step 3 exam?
Thank you.

 I'd also like to know when the page numbers will be updated, as it's frustrating looking around for the page to annotate.

drizzt3117 03-07-2011, 11:19 AM What's the breakdown of the step 2 CK test bank? It seems like some of the test banks have 60+% medicine questions. Is there a good amount of the other subjects?
USMLERxFirstAid 03-07-2011, 11:48 AM Yes, there’s a shuffle feature in the 2010 iPad/iPhone app (which is under review by iTunes right now). This feature is on the Flash Facts/Flash Cards on the USMLERx site as well (www.usmlerx.com (http://www.usmlerx.com)).
The 2011 Flast Facts for First Aid Step 1 will be available soon and also has the shuffle feature.

Neuro or Derm 03-07-2011, 03:59 PM Does the Step 3 USMLERx provide CCS practice software or CCS practice cases or just the mcq part? If not, are there any plans in the future to provide the CCS practice?

fahimaz7 03-07-2011, 04:19 PM Yes, you can customize tests with all the questions that are included in the test bank you purchase.
Will you post the correlations in step 1 performance and Rx performance? Quite a few of us on here already have a subscription, and we're trying to see just how good of an indicator this thing is, since it's not as well known as uworld and Kaplan for quality and score prediction...
iA-MD2013 03-07-2011, 06:01 PM Does the answer also give you page numbers from first aid?
asaCatom 03-07-2011, 07:10 PM The page numbers are being updated as I am typing this message. You will see them shortly.
Does this mean the page numbers will no longer match the 2010 First Aid? Will we have the option to keep the old page numbers?

CielloStelatto 03-07-2011, 07:22 PM You say there are ways both online and through ipod/iphone to access the questions. If you are interested in both options (depending on the day), is there a way to sync so that it knows which questions of a test bank you have gone through?
Can one reset the STEP 1 Qmax once during your subscription? For instance after going through the question once, can all the question be reset to "unused"?
USMLERxFirstAid 03-07-2011, 07:34 PM "Predictive of actual USMLE performance." How is this measured? Are there testimonies?
The predicted score calculates on the most recent two weeks of data with 200 questions completed. It recalculates once in a 24-hour period. USMLERx provides a 3-digit possible score.

USMLERxFirstAid 03-07-2011, 09:20 PM How many self assessments are there in Step 1 Qmax?
How accurate are these assements to the actual USMLE scores, and how do you calculate the correlation?
About 15 self assessments in Qmax if that is all you are using it for.
Again, the predictor is based on your performance on at least 200 questions in a trailing two week periods compared against actual USMLE performance of past test takers. USMLERx is usually within 20 points of your actual performance. Yes, there are students who have used it and told us that we were accurate.

There's no solid answer for that question. It's totally user dependent, and method of using the test bank as well.
iA-MD2013 03-08-2011, 10:22 AM Yes, there is an app for the USMLERx flashcards.

USMLERx questions are integrated with First Aid for the USMLE Step 1.
Our readers/subscribers find it beneficial to begin the test bank about 6 months before the exam.
ButImLETired 03-08-2011, 01:08 PM How would you compare USMLERx with USMLEworld in terms of difficulty? People always say UWorld is much more difficult than the actual test, so is this closer to the test itself?
Also, how integrated are the different parts of the program? Are the answers to questions associated with a more in-depth explanation of the topic?
Thanks!

"Test Prep Week Raffle: 3-month USMLERx Step 1 bundle (Step 1 Qmax and Flash Facts)"
Please let me know about it.

kpxnyc 03-08-2011, 09:29 PM Hi
I understand that USMLERx complements First Aid, but I have also heard that there are other resources that many people use to annotate their notes (ie. other Qbanks, rapid review texts, BRS, etc.). Is the material covered by the Qbank solely based upon the information given in FA or is there a lot more information I could learn from the questions so that I could add/clarify the information in FA?
purple pearl 03-08-2011, 09:54 PM Ive heard good things about USMLErx but there are just so many test banks out there that picking a few are overwhelming. What kind of costumer support/discussion board do you guys have? Are the explanations detailed?
DrTacoElf 03-09-2011, 04:19 PM I feel like usmlerx is more to the point than usmle world? What do you guys think?
fahimaz7 03-09-2011, 06:03 PM I feel like usmlerx is more to the point than usmle world? What do you guys think?
Depends on the question. IMO RX's main purpose is to get you through First aid and do so with a clinical context, which will help cement these facts into your head. I really like the fact that it directly is linked to FA, I just wish that it would give me the right page numbers.
I'm doing RX for 2 months then switching to UW for the real deal.
UserNameNeeded 03-09-2011, 07:25 PM We provide questions that allow our subscribers to make their practice tests as easy or as difficult as they would like.
That's my favorite feature of USMLERx when I used it for Step 2. But, oddly enough, I'd do better on the harder questions than the medium questions.
Having used different test banks for Step 2, I really liked USMLERx's question and answer styles...it's much more rapid-fire and succinct than Kaplan or USMLEWorld (which are both good, too, for different reasons).
tourniquet1963 03-09-2011, 08:00 PM Can i choose to do the questions in a system based fashion as in uworld?
zhuolei 03-09-2011, 11:09 PM Are the questions in the Step 1 Qmax distinct from the ones in the First Aid Q&A book?
hab818 03-10-2011, 07:45 AM I have a question for people who are using both Kaplan Qbank and the USMLERx- which one do you like better and why? I have a little over 3 months to go until the Big Day and have been using Kaplan, but I'm not really liking it so far. I've heard really good things about USMLERx so I'm wondering if I should switch over. I'm planning on starting UWorld in about a month or so so I'd like something that can get me to look at FA more and whatnot.
Dr. Toaster 03-10-2011, 11:17 AM Could you elaborate on your 100% pass guarantee for Step I?

Hab818,
I think U should take advantage of Kaplan Qbank since u started it.... U can learn so much from them. Always has been a great Qbank through the years.
But if u are getting tired of the kap--- and need to go through the FA I think Rx would be a great change, and specially to help u re-emphasize what U R doing with FA. But I wouldnt stop doing Kaplan. U can do it side by side. Even if u change up ur Qbanks.
I am considering doing the Rx myself--- to help me go thru the FA.
And UWorld of course is very important as well.
I myself am a believer of doing what U CAN DO.... According to TIME/& potential.
The IDEAL Thing is to DO AS MANY QUESTIONS AS U CAN--- To gain speed, familiarize urself really with a topic--in different ways.....& get it into UR Brain. The more U do, the more u will c the question in different ways....
CONCEPTS are so important. If u dont have time to go thru all explanations of all questions, maybe cut down from the qbanks... & limit urself.... But going thru explanations, and specially strengthening ur weakness' is very important.
But all the above Qbanks that u mentioned, are right on----
Even FA in the back will tell U...
Well my friend Good Luck in Ur studies.....
QUESTIONS__QUESTIONS__QUESTIONS/ CONCEPTS-----TIMING;)
SFO-IST 03-11-2011, 02:40 AM is there a mechanism by which questions we missed can be aggregated for re-testing?
prosthret 03-11-2011, 01:43 PM So the raffle is only for the Step 1 product? What about the rest of us who have already passed step 1 and need to study for the other steps?
prosthret 03-11-2011, 01:43 PM How closely do your questions reflect those on the actual USMLE?
alesa 03-11-2011, 02:34 PM Hello,
Just wondering about your format. Are any of the questions in a block format, meaning do you have a sequence of questions that pertain to one scenario?
Also, do you have video/audio questions?
Thanks!
kirbyross 03-11-2011, 05:04 PM I've heard great things about USMLE Rx and sure hope to be able to win this raffle!
One question:
do you have an APP for the iphone or itouch that integrates the RX material?
I found a 'sample' version on the app store, but it only had like 15 questions.
What about for Androids?
Thanks
kirbyross 03-11-2011, 05:05 PM Is there a timed tutor mode where you can answer the question and see the answer immediately but still have the time running?
Thank you.
This is exactly what I need....a timed tutor mode
Is that an option on RX?
f1re11 03-11-2011, 06:22 PM I really love how Rx tells you directly where in First Aid you can find relevant information regarding the questions and answer choices.
esperanza27 03-11-2011, 08:55 PM I really Dont know much about the Rx, only that I believe that it will me go thru the FA.
Ive heard in the past that once u have used up ur questions, that u cannot redo them, Is that true? I find that unlikely, since most of other qbanks have the choice to redo the corrects and incorrects.....
Its an honest question, please if someone that has used the Rx question can reply, I would truly appreciate it.
If not won by the raffle eventually I would be interested, in several Qbanks, and this would be one I would consider to help me go thru the FA---- But if I cant redo a question---I DON'T KNOW....
Thanks to all

There are >20 categories to set up exams with. You can do it by subject, or you can do it by organ system. It's quite nice tbh.
