Hi everyone. Long time lurker here whose desperation for advice finally led him to create a log-in. What are my chances?

BCPM GPA:
3.56 (F)
2.92 (S)
3.26 (J)
3.87 (S)
average: 3.34

cGPA:
3.64 (F)
3.20 (S)
3.45 (J)
3.79 (S)
average: 3.52

I took 70+ more credits than my Bio degree requirements for honors, a dual degree, and misc. like foreign language so I don't think additional coursework will raise my GPA by much.

I took the MCAT twice; once last year (9V/8P/8B/K) and once this year (9V/11P/9B/M).

ECs include lots of volunteer work in clinical and non-clinical settings (e.g. serving as a clinic coordinator, hospital aide, coaching Special Olympics, working with at-risk children, etc.), ~75 hours of shadowing a family doc, an international medical internship (1 term), and tutoring. Various entry level work experiences with admittedly little to do with medicine make up the remaining 3-4 EC slots. No research, unfortunately. 8 recommendation letters - 1 M.D., 3 science professors, mentors, etc. (which I realize is too much but my advisor says will work to my advantage). A personal statement that delivers a narrative, describes humble beginnings, emphasizes community service, and how I learned from my dismal sophomore grades.

My application was verified this week, so I'm looking to send all my secondaries out within 2 weeks. Oregon resident. I sent my primary to:

Albany, Creighton, Eastern Virginia, Albert Einstein, Boston U, Case Western, USC Keck, George Washington, Jefferson, Loma Linda, Loyola, Medical College of Wisconsin, NYMC, Oakland, OHSU, Rosalind, Saint Louis U., U. of Iowa, Wake Forest, SUNY Buffalo. and Tulane.

I obviously have some reaches in that list that are next to impossible to get in with my stats. Here are my questions and I'd appreciate any response however blunt or critical; I can take it:

-do I have a chance at any of these schools with the stats that I have and the time frame? (secondary completed mid to late September). Can I get into OHSU?
-I will most likely apply to osteopathic schools now after seeing my sGPA. Is it too late in the DO cycle to apply if I submitted in 2-3 weeks?
-which schools should I not submit secondaries to? (i.e. at which schools would I have little to no chance of being accepted into?)
-what would be the best way to spend my gap year to add to my competitiveness for this year or set me up for success in future application cycles? (I applied to NIH and other research assistant jobs but all of them require 2 year commitments)

Canceling my application and reapplying next year is a last resort, but if it needs to be done I'll do it.

Sorry for the essay and sincere thanks to anyone willing to lend his or her opinion!

1) A 3.52/29 gave ALL Applicants in the past a 42% chance of an MD acceptance. Lateness and low BCPM decrease that number for you. Really substantive ECs would be a plus factor.

2) No, with your stats, you would be quite competitive for DO schools. The lateness factor applies, but to a smaller degree at this time fo year than for MD.

3) I'd send MD Secondaries into Albany, EVMS, Jeff, Loyola, MCW, Oakland, NYMC, Rosalind Franklin, OHSU, Tulane, Buffalo.

4) A public service job, like: City Year, Americorps, or similar. I'm glad you're thinking ahead to a backup plan.

Thanks Catalystik! I'll take your advice and prioritize secondaries from the schools you listed.
