I am a non-traditional student. I have been a nurse on a trauma/surgical floor for 4 years. I am active on my unit. Taking on roles such as: charge nurse, being the superuser/champ for 4 hospital-wide projects, and precepted new nurses. I completed my prereqs at a community college as I made the decision to go back to med school 2 years ago. During that time, I worked full time as a nurse and as a nail technician.

My cgpa is 3.67, sgpa is 3.9 and took the MCAT twice, 23P & 24O.

I applied to MD & DO schools. I understand my chances in MD is very slim, but what about the DO programs?

You might be ok for DO. You GPA is better than average, your MCAT lower so they balance and good ECs. Assuming your personal statement is good, you have the right LORs and you applied broadly, you will probably have some DO luck. You are right though. You have no chance at MD.

I'm also a nurse applying this cycle. I was accepted to Michigan State DO a couple weeks ago. I would say definitely apply broadly. Maybe look for schools that do a superstore for your mcat. Highlight how being a nurse has prepared you for medicine. Emphasize that medicine is your passion. That's the advice I got from adcoms.good luck:D
