LECOM increases their class size for this coming Fall to ~145 - 149. Lost Creek was built across from the school. Other choices are Springs, Yacht Club, Lighthouse Cove.

That was what my portal said when I got accepted, so perhaps that's what's happening? If so, congrats! :)

It means they've made a decision. Depends on when you interviewed. I interviewed on April 12th. I called Lauren this past Wednesday she said rejection and waitlists for my group have been sent out already. Since I wasn't part of that she said they're looking at my application very favorably. So from my understanding if you interviewed last week it might be a bad thing. If it is earlier than that then it is likely good news. My portal status also changed on Friday to this. Hopefully we're in =D

If you aren't waitlisted or rejected, and a letter is coming within 10 days, you're in. :thumbup:

(At least, that's how it was for me.)

I just got an interview for May 10th! Completely surprised by this, but looking forward to the interview. I have already accepted another school but would probably accept LECOM if I get in.

Congratulations on your acceptance jimmyat!! I believe there were two groups on the 4/12 interview date. I was in the 12:45 pm group. I will send you an PM for my first name.

ROFL, we'd have people listening to lectures in the halls and parking at nearby gas stations if that were the case (and parking is quite packed as it is).

No, you are not waitlisted unless you get an official letter from the school indicating that you are waitlisted. Since you interviewed on 4/19, please give it at least a week for the admissions committee to make their decision. If I remember correctly, Lauren mentioned that it may take up to 30 days for them to respond. From the previous posts, it appears that LECOM-B provides a response very promptly if they have the intention of rejecting you or placing you on the waitlist. If you didn't receive anything in the mail from LECOM-B as of yet, the chances are the admissions committee has not made a decision on your file yet. Don't worry. Everyone's portal status says that after they interview. Once they make a decision, they will update the status on the portal. Relax and don't worry!

NoobHealer, I just sent you a PM. Let me know if you have any questions. They send out acceptances, rejections and waitlist information via snail mail. The email is primarily used for scheduling interviews.

Dont Worry. Waitlist is not bad. i am waitlisted and i am living my life very happily. atleast its not rejection letter. when i got rid of my interview, i interviewed on thursday, by monday it said the same thing that you stated, and i called lauren and she told me i got waitlisted, they wont send u an email, they will mail you the letter in 4-5 days after ur interview. thats all i can say, but just hope for the best. can u tell me ur gpa? ur pcat score? can u pm me? thnxx

I think you are right because I heard the number of waitlist is actually the same or even more number of acceptance so that the school is guarantee not losing revenues when accepted candidates cancel their seats...

Lecom Bradenton: If you don't mind me asking, when did you interview and get your acceptance letter? Do they mail it or email? Just curious.

Lecom is super fast, they let students know sometimes in less than 12 days ;) they mail it but you could also call and ask once your profile says: A decision has been made.

True, don't psyche yourself out. No news after 2 weeks is a good news overall. I know most schools sent out rejections withing two weeks so you stand on positive end of spectrum. I also interviewed on 4/19, and have same status; Laura has said, " they were favorably looking into my application." I plan on calling her tomorrow, hopefully, its some good news.

I just wrote a little bit about myself, both personal and academic topics. It was short and too the point, basically just to let them know they are my top choice school. :)

this is to anyone who interviewed in the previous 2 weeks, did they mention if they still had openings? I know when I interviewed on the 26th she stated that they "still had openings and to not think that we were all just for the waitlist" So I was just wondering if they have filled though slots yet.

I know the waiting is really really hard but you can't drive yourselves crazy over it. You have to wait no matter what, so just relax. I would say that if Lauren said they are looking at your file favorably, that is a very good sign. I suspect that this means they want to offer you a seat but may not have a seat right now to offer you. With rolling admissions, new seats open up all the time.

That was my experience anyway. Lauren said they were looking at my file favorably, but it could take another 4-6 weeks before I got an answer. And then my status changed the next day and I got in. So just try to be patient and think about something else.

I interviewed back on 3/22. Lauren had told us then that we would have an answer by the following Wed afternoon, but when that came and went and my status hadn't changed, I called her. That's when she said it could be another month or more until I heard. So my thought is that they were holding my application until a seat opened up, or they are just trying to space out their offers because they don't want to put too many out there at one time.

Of course, I don't actually know what's going on in admissions. We still haven't cleared up if anyone who interviews is rejected. But I just think that if they have not rejected or waitlisted you its because they do want to offer you a seat but it takes some time for whatever reason. I also think Lauren telling you that they are looking at you favorably is a big hint that they do want you in the class. She's trying to ease your mind while she can't officially tell you that you are in.

The problem is that it's so late in the application cycle that very few seats are left. They're probably doing just the best they can to consider everyone for those few spots. In the beginning of the application cycle, when there was less competition and more open seats, they responded with a "yes" or "no" within a few days of the interview. And the gals who work in admissions are, in general, very responsive when they are actually able to answer your questions. I wouldn't go so far as to say that the school admissions are "crap" just because you interviewed so late in the game. :shrug:

^^What she said. By now the number of actual seats open are going to be very limited. I'm sure they told you in your interview people can hear up to the day before classes start! It all just depends on people dropping out. A lot of people secure a seat, but are waitlisted for their first choice school and end up dropping out when they get in to that school. Hopefully you hear sooner than later, but this late in the game prepare yourself for a waiting game.

You should e-mail her. I called her the first time but have kept in contact through e-mail and she replies within the same day, if you e-mail during the week. If on the weekend she replies by Monday.

Today will be exactly 30 days from my interview. Unforunately today is a weekend and the admission is closed. I have to wait monday for the response. Lets cross our fingers who interviewed april 19,2012.:D

As reading all the previous threads/posts, I usually see people will get a response some where in the 4th week, but somehow we are on the 5th week starting from today and still havent received anything from Lecom. NoobHealer- On my interview date, we were told we should find out in a week or so. I emailed Lauren to see what's going on and she said they haven't made a decision blah blah...but that my file is being looked at favorably. A month later my portal status still said a decision has NOT been made. I had already been accepted to 3 other schools and so after about May 14th i stopped checking the portal because I thought I wasn't going to be accepted. So between May 14 and May18th I guess my portal status must have changed because when I got the letter on May 18th the portal did indeed say "a decision has been made on your file.."

I would suggest that you get a brand new PCAT practice book because the PCAT is being redone for next year. Specifically the chemistry and biology sections. The chemistry section is now going to include new biochemistry questions and less nomenclature questions. The biology section will no longer include any non-human bio questions and will now include more anatomy and new physiology questions. The writing section will also be done and scored differently....

The PCAT scores are also suppose to be normalized/re-scored and re-scaled for the next cycle. So competitive scores will likely be lower next year.

I read the SDN posts from ppl who applied last year. There was a person who interview on 4/21 and didn't get a decision until the 1st week of JULY!!! They weren't put on the Alternate list or anything like that. Their portal status just said that a decision has not been made and it stayed that way for almost 2 Months. I'm just letting everyone know not to hold them to the "30 days and we get a decision" idea. It could take almost twice as long to get a decision. Sorry to freak you out but it's the truth.

Yes, people do get rejected, I interviewed on March 8, and a guy I met that day was actually rejected. I am on the waitlist, but seems like a lot of people are.

It was a book... But definitely buy and do the practice tests they hav on the PCAT website... The more questions you see the better you will do. They are expensive but worth it...

Did any alternate list Candidate heard anything back from LECOM-B? If their interview is over on may 17, they should already know, how many seats are left and how many seats they can offer? I am tired of waiting, I have been waiting from February-March, 2012.:mad:

I have a feeling there are actually 2 lists right now... The alternate list which is ppl they actually put on the Alt list. And a "wait list" of ppl who hav not been accepted/denied/alt listed. This "wait list" is where they are accepting from now. In June I think they will offer the remainder of the "wait list" a spot on the Alt list and then they will rank the whole thing... only then will people from the official Alt list be accepted...

On Monday the Erie Campus started to off alternate list people acceptances....

I never applied to the Erie campus bcz I assumed it would be harder to get into. And Lecom Bradenton is much easier to get into and plus it is four yrs. unlike Erie 3 yrs. which is more difficult and felt that I will not have chance in that school.

I might be wrong in thinking they put wait list ppl on the Alt list once it's ranked.... According to last yrs posts a student who interviewed on 4/21 got an acceptance in mid July but was never placed on the alternate list... The alt list was ranked around 6/14 last yr so that person had got no decision at all for well over 2 months...then got the acceptance call out of the blue...

I can't wait till July! That's too long! That's going to get me more fruatrated! :(

Same here, I only applied to LECOM and ETSU but didn't get the ETSU spot. I was in the last interview group and they were already out of spots by then, only alt list left. They told me to reapply earlier next yr and I'd b almost a sure thing. Told me the only thing I'd need to change on my app was updating my personal statement.

I just read the CO 2014 thread and it seems the admissions process was way different than it was last yr and this yr. I didnt see where anyone was left waiting for more than a couple weeks without a decision. Also the Alt list was about 100 ppl to start with when it was ranked on about 6/4. From the 2nd week of June until early July they burned through about half of the list, so it was moving pretty fast.

So do u think I should here back by next week? Bcz there is no way I Am waiting for July. I could be doing my backup plan and apply for masters. Finish my masters in accounting and take the CPA exam. That's alot better than waiting till July! No way Jose :)

I dont think there is a such thing called waitlist and Alt list, When I called Lauren, She told me there is only Alt list, and i was put on it, i bet due to my PCAT score, other than that, i am okay, so Lauren told me, she will let us know from Early June-First day of Class, during this period, they will let all the ALT list people whats going on. I am already frustrated, I interviewed on 5 school, from there 3 Waitlist, 1 reject and 1 dont have any clue, they told me they will let all of us know by July. I am so frustrated, I hate waiting like that, my BP is 130/90 and i am only 22 years old. due to tension/stress. nobody tries to understand that.:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad: :mad:

I know the isn't an official wait list, that's why I put the "" around it. But there are ppl who werent initially accepted or put on the Alt list. The last 2 days ppl in this situation have been offered acceptance and atleast one that is still waiting on a decision. I would guess that these are ppl from the last few interview dates who will get accepted as spots open up before they take anyone off the official Alt list. In last yrs posts a person who was in that situation got their acceptance in early July and the 1st person to say they were pulled off the Alt list didn't report it happening until after that.

The only other explainations that I can think of is that they were waiting to compare these people to the last interview groups or they were waiting on final transcripts before making a decision...

Just called lauren and she told me to be patient. I feel like that I keep annoying her. So, I am just going to wait on her response. I know you guys are frustrated just like me. Oh no, this house is in Bradenton, not in Erie. It's in the Lakewood Ranch area only a 5 minute drive to campus. I think that housing prices are a bit higher here than in Erie, unfortunately. Also, I think some people do enjoy the idea of having roommates- it depends on the person. Plus a house offers benefits that many studio apartments don't- there is a garage, a yard (pets are allowed and I have dogs so for me this was a plus), washer/dryer, dishwasher (I know some studios have this too, but many I've looked at do not)... but thanks for responding, I just wanted to clear up the confusion about the location!

I already responded to RoseBudLA explaining that the place is in Bradenton, not Erie, but just to give you guys an idea of the market down here, the new apartments that were built across the street from the school look very nice, but start at $950 for a 1 bedroom. From what I've seen around here, $1600 is in line with other 3 bedroom places.

Study the Kaplan book. And take bunch of practice test on the website. Also study two months for it. I studied all summer eight hrs a day. I took it last September. I knew I was ready. But waiting for my status now is stressful. I know people bbeen saying relax And be patient. However it is a big decison of mg life. My Parents and Family always ask me and I feel so stupid bcz I haven't heard anything yet. I just wish they tell me soon as possible. I have big dreams that I have to accomplish. I just don't want to become a pharmacist but also a CPA. And a big business man. One quote my dad told me, "go big or go home!"

I was basically emailing/calling once a week letting them know they were my top choice, and I would really like to attend there in the fall. I felt like I was being annoying too, but I guess I am glad I was. Good luck!

She also told me that she was planning to email an update or change the portal status's later in the week to the people on the alt list

I got that email today. I just don't understand unless it's a rolling 10% and as people decline it moves to the next 10%? I just think that would take forever unless there is not many on the list...but in our interview they told us maybe 80 was on it last year and they accepted over half. Did anyone else hear this at their interview?

I got that email today. I just don't understand unless it's a rolling 10% and as people decline it moves to the next 10%? I just think that would take forever unless there is not many on the list...but in our interview they told us maybe 80 was on it last year and they accepted over half. Did anyone else hear this at their interview?

What email did you receive may i ask? it states what exactly? during our interview she says she accepts a lot of students at the end but dont know whats happening now.

nothing was said like that at our interview, but I hope thats true, it gives me some hope. I think the top 10% makes sense on a rolling bases. I really hope we all make it in and I hope I get that email soon. Keep us posted if you get accepted:D

are You sure its the same message that most of us got it on Monday of last week i believe? or did she say there will be another email, based on the Top 10% candidates? please elaborate. i received this letter last Monday:

I am happy to help you out the best that I can. As an alternate candidate, I know that it is hard to not know what is going on. Unfortunately, we are in a very similar position in our Admissions Office. We do not have a concrete idea of how many will be pulled from the alternate list; as it depends on how many students that are sitting in the class choose not to matriculate at LECOM Bradenton.

We do our best to keep you up to date with any information that we have available. You received a letter yesterday that was sent to all alternate candidates to explain the process of how we will be approaching our alternate list.

As the email stated, if at any time you fall into the top 10% of the alternate list, we will be sure to contact you. This is typically by email.

The best advice that I can offer to you at this time is to try to be patient (although, I know that it is hard) and be assured that we will keep you updated as we receive any updates.

The committee does not provide a detailed ranking of each candidate, please keep in mind that we will contact you as soon as we have an update on your file.

I did not get this letter, that means i will not get accepted this year nor will i fall into the top 10% category. well good luck to you.

Seriusly, since u got that message maybe you are in top 10 or close to top 10%. i am nothing closer my PCAT is bad. its 16% and 5% overall, so they got ticked off i beleive. plus i have C in orgo 1 and B in orgo 2 and a C in calc 1, i dont think they will place me in top 10%. i think i should loose my hope for this year. i dont know what i will do. what was ur pcat score again? and gpa?

Yeah that is the email I am speaking of, you can prob call her Monday and just ask what your rank is on the list

This is odd I am on the alternate list and haven't received this email or the other one previously posted :( I hope this doesn't mean I'm on the bottom of the list :confused:
