troubles in my personal life (deaths close to home, depression, sob stories etc.) interfered with my attendance during undergrad and seriously hindered my overall GPA. I ended up graduating with a 2.7. I plan on retaking every course I need to in order to make an impact showing that I'm willing to do anything possible to raise my grades. I have many extracurriculars; I work as an EMT, have lots of volunteer work and have had an internship in a hospital for a year. I am studying for the MCAT and will hopefully do very well.
Any comments on what my chances are? I know I have a dismal GPA but my test scores were never the problem...I'm retaking several courses at the moment at a nearby community college because the price is muuuuuuch cheaper.
SUGGESTIONS?
should i opt for a post-bacc?

Keep retaking and apply DO. Could shave a tremendous amount from your gpa repair. DO schools do grade replacement while MD schools don't.

DO schools do grade replacement while MD schools don't. . . .as long as the credit hours are the same or greater.
