Your MCAT/GPA/EC's are all pretty good. I would suggest a little more shadowing in different specialties. More leadership will help also. Did you apply to only the top 25 schools? Did you get interview last time? And if you have, how are your interviewing skills? These might be things to improve upon (apply vastly and improving your interviewing skills) if you didn't get in the first time.

I applied pretty broadly. Applied to 20+ schools last cycle, including CA schools, Ohio state, temple, drexel, NYMC, BU etc... Got only 1 interview at Ohio state and my interview skills were "competitive."

You got one interview with those stats....? Something is missing. Did you admit to stabbing a person to death in your PS or something?

Yeah seriously, did you apply too late? What did you improve on your application since last year?

I had my primaries turned early july and finished secondaries apps by end of August. Basically worked on more volunteering hours and more involved with the organizations I am already apart of (taking up more responsibilities). Trying to shadow with different specialties currently.

Interviewing skills

He only had one interview. It wasn't skills holding him back.

I would email the schools and see if they will go over why you were rejected. Good luck op

If you haven't already, have someone look over your PS. Also, make sure that you have good LORs. For your ECs, just keep doing what your doing and you should be good for this upcoming cycle.

Could you have had an LOR that raised a red flag. Did you supply the LORs requested, rather than substituting something else for the requested academic letters? Did you have any legal issues or institutional actions on your record? Was the tone of your PS wrong (ie, not humble)? Did multiple readers give it a pass?

Did you call schools that rejected you and ask what you could do to become competitive?

Did you apply again this season, and if so, how did the school list change?
