I am also doing research and will hopefully be published a few times by the 2013 cycle Unless the masters in an SMP, I think you are going to need to get your cumulative and science undergrad GPAs over 3.0 (well over to be comfortable) to apply to MD or DO programs. The 29P should be good for DO; it's below the average for almost all MD programs if I remember correctly. Are you a URM? Best of luck to you!
