I know that some of you are thinking: Gold Standard Verbal? Isn't that like a dentist offering to do appendectomies???

Well, it's true that it is now been a few years that SDN has had GS practice MCATs on the list of economical quality practice exams BUT there has often been the added warning that our VR section was too easy. So last summer we completely revised all passages, questions and explanations in the VR of our 10 full-length practice exams. And last week, we put an additional 10 VR practice tests on our website making a total of 20 VR tests with no duplication of content.

Soon students will start posting about the new exams but if you don't want to wait (!!), one full length test is available for a free test drive: www.mcat-prep.com/Practice-Tests/ (http://www.mcat-prep.com/Practice-Tests/)

To learn more about the new VR program: www.mcat-prep.com/verbal-reasoning/ (http://www.mcat-prep.com/verbal-reasoning/)

Are the questions still using exact details from the passage like the old ones. This was the biggest weakness. Did the same staff write these exams as the old ones? Thanks!

New staff, new passages, new questions and explanations. We heard the complaints and took them very seriously. And, as always, the first full-length practice test GS-1 is free with answers, explanations and diagnostic so that anyone can 'test' the new test including of course, the new VR.

So the free full-length practice test has the same BS/PS section as before but also an updated VR?

The VR is completely changed (passages/questions/explanations) and the PS/BS had its annual pruning in the fall. In other words, every year we make slight adjustments to science questions based on MCAT trends, feedback, etc. That might mean 1 question on one exam or a handful on another.

A question
Would I be able to get any advice from an instructor or admin during this verbal course if I don't see any improvement in my verbal scores??

Definitely.

You have access to a forum thread for each of the 800 multiple choice VR questions so that if there is a question type you are having difficulty, you just ask and you will have a personalized professional response.

If you are only interested in practice tests (10 full-length exams plus/minus the 10 additional VR tests) then there is no guarantee because 1 full-length exam is available online for free. In other words, you can test drive it including answers/explanations, diagnostic tools and a forum thread for each individual question before making a purchase.

If you were interested in the full course (books/DVDs/MP3s/flashcards, online programs, lectures, etc.), that comes with a MCAT score guarantee similar to what most complete courses provide: http://bestmcatbooks.com/dr-brett-l-ferdinand-live.html
