Definitely proves my status as an SDN addict. And yeah, I am still going to interview at UCSF and UCSD. At this point I think I would go to USC over UCSD, but UCSF is in my hometown, so that could be hard to beat. Though the PharmD/MS in Regulatory Science deal at USC is pretty good. So we'll see. But I sent USC my deposit yesterday... so for the moment at least, it looks like I'm a Trojan.

Yeah the Regulatory MS is pretty hard to compete w/elsewhere. It's engineered speficically for pharmd students and that impressed me. I hope your ucsf interview goes like crap AZ!!!! Just playin ;)

It's hard to say exactly why we've been accepted. Actually it would be nice if in the acceptance letters, they said "We have decided to admit you for X, Y, and Z reasons." Numbers are not the only factors taken into consideration by adcoms. The personal statement is HUGE and the interview is also critical. Not everyone with a 3.6+ GPA or 99th percentile PCAT is accepted if they don't have other pharmacy related experiences and an ability to effectively communicate why they want to be a pharmacist and what they have to contribute to the profession. If I had just said, my GPA is 3.3 and PCAT %ile is 91, that would be like saying "this is what you need to get into pharm school," but, I don't think those are the only reasons I was accepted.

Hi guys~ This is my first post, but I've been reading all the threads from SDN since last year. I just got the acceptance letter from UCSF, so any of you who applied to UCSF should start getting the letters soon. Unlike USC, the admission letter is really thin.. so don't be nervous when you see the thin envelope ;). I'm really pleased because I got rejected last year and I reapplied...

All the information from SDN really helped me a lot to understand and prepare the field of pharmacy. I really appreciate to you guys!!!!!:love:

I'm with UCD. It is actually hella difficult in your first year to find time to clean your dishes much less post thoughtful responses to pre-pharm queries so mucho thanks to all those who make time in their year 1.

I am sooo happy, I didn't think I would get in! :) Unfortunately, though, this is a conditional acceptance, meaning I have to get "B's" or higher in my remaining/current courses. I am currently pulling a B- (nearing a C+) in OChem, so I am really really scared. All of my other classes are going excellent. If I don't get that B in OChem (I hope a B- still equates to a B for this purpose), I will need to be re-evaluated. Hopefully that would not make me fall short of acceptance. :( Now I finally have some more motivation for ochem... better get back to the books immediately and catch up! :)

I just got accepted into Temple University. :D

But will I accept their invitation? THAT is the question :meanie: .

I'm still waiting for 1 more decision. I shall return to let y'all know what I've decided.

Having lived in Oregon all my life [with the exception of my undergrad] I wanted to attend school at a different location. Blah. But life isn't always what you want it to be. Gotta go with the flow sometimes...especially if (a) you're poor and (b) your mommy really really wants you to stay close to home this time around.

It's a means to an ends, I guess. 2 years in Corvallis, 1 year in Portland, and the last year will be whereever I want it to be ^^ I'll just grin it, and bear it. That's right :meanie:

Hopefully, by the time I'm finished, I won't be married yet, with kids, and doomed to live my life out in Oregon. That would be sad.

Ohh, cry me a river.. Texas to AZ? Puhhhhhhleeze.. :p I drove for 31 hours (1997.56 miles) from Northern Michigan to Arizona, ALONE, in a ford focus, with everything that I own. Several of my classmates drove from New York! :eek:

Hey guys, I'm Shane, currently a 4th year at UC Irvine doubling in bio and chem. I only have a year left before I apply and it would be great if you geniuses can give me some advice on what I should do in order to stand out in the application process. I'm kind of in the dark. My gpa is in the gutter...I'm struggling to keep a 3.3 and I just started doing research this spring. I know I need to get some pharmacy action but what else can I do to stand out from those ppl who have a 3.5 and stuff. Any thing would help!!!
