Another back door to many IM programs is their primary care program according to one PD. Since many of these programs don't fill, in the past, a lot of people used to rank the primary care programs right after the categorical of a particular university just to make sure that they matched in there and then transferred to the categorical after they matched. I wouldn't reccomend this though, as the same PD told me that they were cracking down on this. Thanks for the info on southwestern though, I've heard good things about their IM program.

I've heard that St. Paul's residents are pretty weak and almost all FMG. Guess if you can endure a year, it's worth it.

Hey UTSouthwestern, pretty mean thing to say about St.Paul's residents. FMG's are usually smarter than domestics.

St Paul has a reputation for being malignant and those residents who have rotated through Southwestern have received less than stellar ratings.
