I'm from Illinois, and my #1 right now is Midwestern IL, but I also plan on applying to Midwestern AZ, UIC, Louisville, UK, Creighton, Indiana, Iowa, Marquette.

GPA is 3.50, sGPA is 3.29
DAT scores: 19 PA, 18 QR, 23 RC, 19 BIO, 20 GC, 16 OC, 18 TS, 19 AA

I know my stats are all pretty average, the 16 in OC worries me a bit, I had to drop orgo II this semester due to having surgery so I didn't have as great of a foundation on that for the DAT. As far as shadowing I don't have much yet, but by the time I apply I will.. I have a few hours here and there at a general practice, I'm going to Africa to volunteer in a dental clinic for a month (leaving in 5 days for that so I'll apply right after I get back), and then I'll be shadowing the rest of the summer and have a clinical internship for next semester at a local dental clinic 16 hours/week.

Does anyone think I have a chance for any of the schools I'm looking at? I take the DAT in 3 weeks. I originally had planned to use destroyer along with other resources, but after I ordered it, they called me and said I was going to have to pay more $$ to ship to Hawaii. Not knowing what to do, I just didn't go through with the order because it seemed too ridiculously expensive to ship the book.

I looked on amazon/ebay for used ones, but didn't have any luck.

So the short of it is this: I'm using datqvault/achiever (3 tests)/ and Chad's videos. I also have access to cliffnotes and KBB (but don't use either much). How do you think I'm standing right now?

I have been studying for the past month and a half to two months and I have been making solid progress. I'm done with content so I have about 3 weeks of just practice, review, and memorizing. I hope to be ready by June 7th cause I plan to go to europe for the rest of june the very next day.

I plan to take a practice test to gauge how prepared I am about a week or so in advance and the week of.

In regards to scored I would really appreciate some advice. If I don't score well on the practice should I take the DAT see how I do and then take it again later this year if I need to ? So i'll still have my app considered but just update the score later.

OR

Should I just reschedule it for later in the summer / year and therefore my app wouldn't really be looked at till I have that score in.

Have a quick question on the materials I want to get for studying the DAT, but was wondering if I am over killing it and making some books redundant.

I plan to get the following but was wondering what I can throw out:
1) Crack the DAT Ace
2) Kaplan Blue book
3) Biology AP Cliff notes
4) Destroyer (both books)
5) Achiever
6) Topscore
7) Chad's videos

I am taking ochem 1 & 2 over the summer and plan to take the DATs this August, so my study time will be limited to weekends, and 3 full weeks in August. before the test.

Firstly, all praise is due to God and God alone. Were it not for His Bounty and Grace and Mercy, I would never have achieved these scores. I turn in gratitude to Him, always. I recently took my DAT within the last week, and earned scores of 20+ by the Grace of God. I would like to give back to my fellows since I gained so very much from the community here. So here is what I did/used:

----G Chem-Exam Crackers, Kaplan MCAT, and most importantly, Chad's videos, this was by far the MOST HELPFUL resource I had for Gen Chem. I did Destroyer 3x through, until I was getting over 90% correct.

-----O Chem-I used my textbook, Wade(navy blue cover) and essentially did a detailed skim of the book cover to cover. I also used Chad's Videos for this. Both resources were incredibly helpful. I did Destroyer 3x until I was getting about 85-88% correct.

-----Bio-This was a tough one. I used Cliff's notes and read it once, then kept skimming it everyday, in addition to rereading chapters I'd felt I'd forgotten. I used KAPLAN MCAT BIOLOGY to cover body systems, since it was more detailed, and I think that was a great idea. I used q-vault which was very helpful, and did Destroyer 2x. I did very, very well on this section.

-----QR-Math destroyer all the way. Do all the tests.

-----RC-Naturally decent at this.

-----PAT-CDP, Achiever. Practice like there's no tomorrow.

I also used Achiever and Topscore for practice. I liked Achiever more. The real exam was slightly easier than Topscore for me. Achiever was overkill, and significantly harder. Destroyer was super helpful, and CHAD'S Videos cannot be overstated. I studied a little over 1 month hardcore (8+ hours/day). Good luck everyone, I hope this is helpful. STAY CALM during the exam, hard as it may be. Trust in God, and do your best preparation. Verily, the Lord rewards those who strive hard, and do good to His creations.

I have ~3weeks until my test date, and I have been studying for about 1.5 months now.
I have scheduled myself to do practice tests/review of weak materials from here on out, but for the next day or two, I will have to practice on Ochem a little bit more, since it is my weakest science in general.
I did all of Chad's videos once, and then did it again for the mechanisms and things that I am still weak at. Now I am at a point where I have to do a ton of practice questions to really drill it in (I haven't done any for Ochem, except for the quizzes) but am constricted in time that I think I could only do questions that best represent the test.

Do you all think that Destroyer is a bit overkill? I saw the questions and I think they mostly beyond the scope of what Chad had covered. Should I not waste time on studying on the worst-case and just focus on solidifying material covered from Chad's videos? If so, which material could I practice on to do this? (ie. best represent Chad's videos/the actual DAT)
Or should I just suck it up and do Destroyer?

I'm a sports guy, so I can definitely relate to this video, but hopefully others find true inspiration from this video to push themselves and achieve whatever they work hard for. I saw this video a LONG time ago and up to this day, I still watch it.

Is it worth it to use the Achiever as a study material or just to see where you are? This program is destroying me. I took notes from Chads and went through the Destroyer twice. The first time with Destroyer was rough but the second time going through the Destroyer was much better and I was getting about 70% correct. But I am getting as low as 12~13 on the Achiever.
