I don't know much about Kaplan, but I can vouch for TPR. I found it difficult to keep up w/ all the work and lessons while I was in school and working a job full time. Nevertheless, they offerred great resources. It's just up to you to make the most of your class (and money). They give you detailed score reports after each practice test so you know exactly what kinds of questions you're missing. I made the most use of my princeton review materials, however, while studying for my second round of MCAT in Aug. I was way more organized. Anyhow, this is when I found their materials most useful. I reviewed my notes and guided my studying with their books. So, in the end I just payed 1300 bucks for a bunch of books, but kind of worth it:)

I took Kaplan and raised my score from a 30 on the diagnostic to a 40T on the test.
My teachers were really good, but also I took 12 full-lengths before test day. (PS I teach there now so I may be a little biased.) |

C'mon people. Those last two posts don't really help much! LOL. I teach for PR and it is a rarity to score 30+ on the diags. It is also not that helpful for me to say what my score would be AFTER teaching for PR. I would hope that it went up. I don't think the OP was looking for a come to Kaplan/PR and score a 40+. But seriously, I highly recommend a prep course. They can only help right? Both programs are good and everyone is biased toward the one they took. Take the one that is more convienient. Take the one that starts with "K" because you like the letter "k". Take PR because they give you more books to take home and keep. Take Kaplan because they have a nice library of materials to access. Both are good. If you do the work either one will help you.

Where I was from Kaplan had a physical center, whereas PR rented out space in the local high school. That appealed to me as you could go to the center to study/take practice exams without too many distractions of home. I think Kaplan was also slightly cheaper, when I signed up.
