Owle is not cool enough to be a Brit.

nope, you just seem pretty desperate. no, I'm just kidding :meanie:
Nah, I listen music from many cultures so I can't judge you for that.
American, Indian, Korean, and Romanian :p
And I LOVE British accents (and I'm kinda liking north indian accents) but I'm not a Brit :(

I need to watch happy shows instead of just crime shows. Something funny but not disgusting and stupid.
I hate being so freaked out all the time.

That's why I turn to stuff like Family Guy and American Dad sometimes. At least there it's not as disturbing.

Yeah but those shows are stupid. Crime shows are the only clean shows on T.V. that's the problem

To be honest I never watched them but I have watched the simpsons before and I really thought it was dumb. I saw commercials of family guy and american dad showing them do weird stuff with their wives. Plus, I don't like offensive jokes. I don't want to watch something like that.
Something clean, funny, and happy, but nothing romantic like dramas.

Hmm...

Disney Channel or Nickelodeon? It's not boring and doesn't have offensive jokes.

Hah! I was going to suggest Barney, but I didn't want to sound mean.

Any comedy would meet those criteria. Big Bang Theory, The Office, Parks and Req, Modern Family, etc.

xNeenax 10-14-2011 08:31 PM

Disney Channel is boring :shifty:

Which comedy is the best in your personal opinion.

Humor is wildly subjective, but I will say The Office and Parks & Req have the same type of humor. If I had to rank them:

BBT>TO>P&R>MF

but that ranking would change based on my mood.

I haven't seen big bang theory abbreviated that way.

And I haven't seen anyone abbreviate the office as TO.

The other two shows, I haven't really watched.

I didn't think typing them all out was necessary sense those were the shows I was talking about. :p

Modern Family is prolly the least funny of that group, but sometimes it cracks me up. Parks and Req is hilarious, if you like the office you will most likely enjoy parks and req - many weeks I enjoy parks more than office. You may want to go back and watch it from the beginning though.

Parks and Rec is definitely a good show. Certainly tops The Office more often than not, but I still find The Office entertaining.

My favorite character has to be Ron Swanson. Considering how this new season started I was afraid he wasn't going to be playing as big of a role. I'm happy that that isn't the case though!

xNeenax 10-15-2011 08:55 PM

That smart guy in Big Bang Theory talks too fast and sometimes I don't understand what he's saying. I like him :)
Although he's not as good as Spencer Reid, he's good enough :p

Got to counsel some patients at the hospital yesterday. Set up service learning hours for my SSHP chapter out there, and people signed up for all of the slots pretty quick. I'm pretty happy it worked out.

Man, I agree with Lea about P2 year. We just realized the other day that we're officially "in the trenches." P1 year is the eye opener, P2 year you get the 100 yard stare, and P3 year you just read "the Little Train That Could" over and over. And over.

Looking forward to rotations P4 year at least.

P3 for me. We're all graduating the same yr (YAY). 2013 cannot come any faster.

Can I just say that this past week and a half was the most I've ever studied in my entire life:eek:. Burned the midnight oil so many times last week that I was brain dead by mid week. At least now I know how to study for the finals.

xtsukiyox 10-17-2011 01:35 PM

The Occupy Phoenix people are like a block away and I have been listening to them all morning. They did a walk around the block & walked right past my window shouting & carrying on. When cars drive by that honk, a great shout will go up from the crowd. But I hate to call 25 people a crowd... I'm sure it'll pick up again as that 99% gets off work.

We just had our second round of block exams, so I can definitely relate. We have our 7 exams over 4 days, and if you aren't reasonably well prepared going in you're pretty much screwed. Even if you are prepared, it's still exhausting though.

Keep up the studying habits and it'll help later.

I just had to look up what "burned the midnight oil" meant on Urban Dictionary

Zinc "cold drop lozenges" (like Coldeez), as often as suggested. Lots of fluids. Lots of rest. At least, that seems to work for me.

ETA: Top!

Hmm? From self-experimentation, I've found they only really work if you take them as often as they say. I like the coldeez style ones rather than the pills - nothin' like the placebo effect of candy. Of course, with an experimental group of one, I couldn't do a double blind. :p

Wash your hands and avoid sick people. Everything else is voodoo... except the somewhat helpful flu-vaccine, but don't let them sucker you into one of those inhaled vaccines.

Let me assure you, if you have something that works for you, by all means do it. I have no problem with that at all. I have no problem with people self-medicating themselves with OTC's that have worked in the past. If it works for you, what more could you want?

But I couldn't help but comment on a recommendation of zinc in a cold. Especially because this is a pharmacy forum. Your homework is to use pubmed to find a study that supports using zinc in a cold. Report your findings here. ;)

Is this a joke? Cough drops are medication. Now whether or not zinc is a medication in regards to a cold is a different matter. But you can find articles about it's use in this setting regardless.

Oh right. Avoid touching people and use good hygiene.

Also, use airbourne, that stuff is magic for keeping colds away. Did you know it was created by a teacher? That's how you know it is good.

(please do not use airbourne, that was a joke. A terrible, terrible joke.)
