Research Area Specialist Position: University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio
The Neurobehavioral Research Laboratory and Clinic (NRLC;
www.nrlc-group.net ) in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio is in search of an individual to fill a research area specialist position. Under the direction of faculty and senior research personnel, this individual will work on a longitudinal research project examining the development of adolescents between 12 and 17 years old who have received inpatient treatment for severe psychopathology. Primary outcomes include suicidality, serotonin transporter functioning, stressful life events and substance use behavior. Responsibilities include gathering data from self-report measures, interviews, laboratory behavioral tasks, measures of attention, cognition, substance use, and completing blood work.
Duties Include:

Conducts a research protocol by using a variety of methods, including use of self-report measures, interviews, laboratory behavioral tasks, blood work, and measures of attention, cognition, substance use, and intelligence.
20%
Enters data collected during the research appointments, maintains follow-up schedule of adolescent cohort, and recruits new participants.
10%
Coordinates the research or lab-related efforts of student volunteers and performs other duties as assigned.

Collects, evaluates, and interprets research data to provide needed information to principal investigators and other researchers to include qualitative and quantitative analysis.
