You cannot tell if a match list is "good" at all at any level of medicine: pre-med, med stud, resident, attending, pd, god, budda, ect. You shouldn't look at match lists period because all a match list is preference for that particular class. if 100% of the Johns Hopkin went in FM, would it be a bad match list? (the answer is no).
The basic thing that usually happens is whatever school you look are at, for example U of Chicago, they will tend to have a lot of matches at their home hospital, around Chicago, and then the midwest (why?? because most of their students are from that area). I would say majority of match lists work this way, if you are from area X, most students want to do residency in area X.
