Today's lesson will be on whether or not WW are morally ambiguous, and more importantly, if someone is morally ambiguous are they a werewolf. We should start our examination with this phrase "morally ambiguous." What does it mean in general? Also, what does it mean in the context of this game.



Ask.com has this to say on the subject:


A morally ambiguous character is one which is characterised by lacking morals or morals that are shifted to suit a particular person. For instance, a morally ambiguous character may be seen in a businessman who is willing to make money doing the wrong thing such as selling drugs to teenagers. Morally ambiguous characters are commonly used in books and in films to help audiences understand the importance of having good morals.


Not really sure what this has to do with our game, but let me point out that WW by nature must have a morally ambiguous role. They must lie on the thread, lie in PMs and then theoretically tell the truth to their fellow wolves.


So if you are a WW (A) then you are morally ambiguous (B) if A => B.
Now in logic we learn that the opposite of that is not true. If A=>B does not mean if B => A.
But what we can say logically is: if –B=> -A. So if NOT morally ambiguous , then NOT a werewolf.



For example we all know that sooprnova has been very helpful fixing items for whomever receives it. So sooprnova has not been acting morally ambiguous, and therefore is not a werewolf. What a nice person that sooprnova is. BUT, we can't really know if sooprnova has always been telling the truth since we don't really know what else she has been saying, or even what her role is, so perhaps she can be morally ambiguous. Ok, but IRL we can sooprnova is not morally ambiguous and is therefore not a WW IRL.

Our conclusion here is that we can conclude that moral ambiguity is a complicated concept, and if you meet sooprnova IRL, don't worry about her being a WW.

Now back to our story. SOV received 100 messages starting from 8:41pm last night. The earliest guess was 10:35am by Soops. Can you believe that? You guys must think I am a machine or something.

Now, there was quickly a consensus to lynch the morally ambiguous character kakuru, and without dissent. So voting was closed, Kakuru was lynched up until dead, and we discovered that our morally ambiguous character was in fact, Josef Stalin, the gulag filler, the role that kept LIS fed and sheltered.



It is the eighth night. Get me PMs by midnight and I will do the write up in the morning.

Probably what happened to me, silenced and contingency vote cast against her choice. Sounds like WTF silenced kakuru as well though?

Actually, I do. DocE cleared Emiloo to me early in the game. DocE was totally a wolf, so....

I was going to threaten to only answer this if y'all didn't lynch me, but too late. To be honest, I don't remember. Made the username when I first joined in whatever it says over there (years ago). Google tells me a kakuru was some type of small dinosaur. I don't know what the bird part is for...

When was I cleared by DocE? If I was, I guess all I can say is I've definitely cleared villagers as a wolf so that another villager who had investigative abilities would trust me. Honestly, I can't tell you why DocE did anything he did. Remind me of this clearing...

My role is the prophet Elijah. I burned up my rez power bringing back DVMDream back a few days ago. Now I'm just a washed up prophet who is building an African army of evil-ass-kickers.

DVM, I know the path you are sniffing down. However, whether you are right or wrong....I do not know. Like I said....I don't know anyone's roles. Cuit was a lucky guess based on my suspicion because I wanted to take down a wolfy. Mix things up a bit.

Perhaps, perhaps not. Katie also spoke with me before she was evidently silenced. So, I have an idea......curious now....curious chaos.

I think from your previous post you are implying that you did silence katie, not sure though. :confused:

I can understand if you don't want to be blunt about the silencing after all you are chaos..;)

But if you feel inclined to help us innocent villagers I could potentially have found a wolf based off your answer of either you silencing or not silencing katie. It is not a guaranteed wolf find but there is a good reason to believe that it could be a wolf find.
