I actually know more PT hospitalists than FT ones. Most of the people I know doing hospitalist work are .5 to .75 FTE. These jobs are in mostly community and HMO positions.

Also, our VA considers FT as a nocturnist to be 10 shifts a month, which pays in the $175k range including gummint benes. Some folks do 10 straight and take the next 3 weeks off, others split it up in 3-7 day chunks.
