As Wolverine Fan mentioned, the competition within your class has no bearing on your likelihood of acceptance, outside of curved exams and their effect on your GPA. Unless you have plans to pursue an amazing opportunity that will strengthen your application with the extra time you gain, you will not want to graduate in a year in a half if you are planning on medical school. Admissions committees prefer a mature applicant and upper level courses in the sciences will only increase your familiarity with content that you will see on the MCAT. Forget the admissions statistics and ask yourself whether Rutgers is a better fit for your academic goals and the lifestyle you want to lead. If it is, transfer. It will never be easier than it is now, after freshman year.
