Ive emailed some of them and some have replied as not having a one year spot available, perhaps they run into scheduling issues for the second year... or they are thinking of that new 50 bronch requierement for board eligibility that is coming up for ccm without pulmonary ( stupid requirement if you ask me! i would never do that even if certified,thats what pulmonologist are trained for! no offense  .

I Have met a few ID/CCM, working in private practice and academia alike. you could work anywhere an id or ccm guy is needed, if you are board cert, theres no difference whatsoever between a 2 y ccm trained fellow and a 1 y ccm after another fellowship, as far as i know.
