Subforums vs no subforums have been discussed a bit in the past. http://forums.studentdoctor.net/showthread.php?t=483859

One of the issues raised with subforums is that the more the forum is divided, the more cumbersome it becomes to browse. It's a valid concern, but maybe it's time to revisit the question again.

I think another issue is that everyone has a slightly different idea of the "right" way to divide the forums - ie. by school, topic, year, etc.
