Although this list is far from complete, these numbers came directly from their respective institutions. I will update this page as frequently as I can. Feel free to pm me with updated numbers and/or statistics but be sure to give me the source. I will only accept stats coming directly from the school such as their website, credible books, interviews, or open house! Enjoy! :prof:

Awesome job, Hokie! I'm sure this will be a very valuable resource for all the upcoming applicants. :D I'm impressed with the numbers; the "gap" really IS closing.

Great job. When this is more complete, is there any chance you could make a School Selection Spreadsheet, similiar to the one stickied at the top of the pre-allo, "What are my chances" forum? Regardless, this is a great resource and I look forward to seeing it develop.

Kansas City MCAT score has a typo.

Nope, look at the link provided. Some schools provide MCAT as a single average of all three sections. Some school provide the sum (~26-30). I admit, it's kinda confusing, but if you see a number between 8-10 listed as the MCAT, you can assume they just took the average of the PS, BS, and VR sections.

I am at GA-PCOM, and in high school, my stats were something like 8 points and 9 rebounds/game. I also shot like 98% on free-throws my senior year. I think I only missed one, and was maybe 10-20 attempts shy of qualifying for the lead in the city in that category. Not bad for a big man. I did not play in college.

Note: These statistics are very dated (class of 07') but I have yet to see newer stats published on their website or elsewhere. It can only be assumed that their stats have since gone up atleast somewhat.

Just so you guys know, I worked with Admissions the last two years, and the numbers matter much less than you'd think once you have an interview. I've seen people with outstanding stats get waitlists and rejections.

Apply early to PCOM, and be relaxed and yourself at your interview!! Your personality matters very much to our admissions staff. IMO, you get your foot in the door with great stats and it is up to you to demonstrate that you're sociable and intelligent.

I'm not sure how accurate these lists are, but they say they have been updated within the last few years. Hope it helps...

This one is just by MCAT (it says revised 7/16/08 on the bottom)

P.S. - I have to agree with MaximusD said, it seems as if after all my secondaries came in, the scores didn't really matter. They just wanted to get to know me. Food for thought.

I saw these websites before and I know for a fact that the first link is outdated. The second link, although they are from a credible website, I think it will be best if we get the information from the schools themselves. I want to try to keep these numbers as accurate and reliable as possible! When I get a chance, I will call the schools up individually and update the records as I find out!

Absolutely man. Good on ya. I took the first one down :D

no UMDNJ-COM?
This is really stupid and I'm sorry for pointing it out.. but just so you don't say that at the interview, it's UMDNJ-SOM. Btw, what undergrad are you at? I'm at Stockton :]

* GPA: the average for each entering class has consistently been 3.5. The range is fairly broad, with greatest emphasis placed on the science GPA. For those who got a slow start, we look for steady improvement. Most important are your grades in upper level science classes taken during the junior and senior years. Course work in the biological sciences and in biochemistry receives the closest scrutiny.

* MCAT: the average for each entering class has ranged from 26 to 27. Here the range is somewhat narrower than the GPA review. If you are disappointed with your scores, don't be afraid to retake the MCAT. Success in medical school requires discipline and perseverance, so we look for individuals who keep trying to improve their performance.

does someone want to take the time to get the pass rates of the comleX AND USMLE?

USMLE is impossible for most DO schools, since most/all don't collect this info, let alone make it public.

As for COMLEX, that info would have to be compiled via interviewees or current students. We've had a few half hearted attempts, but maybe a new thread would yield better results.

getting complex passrate sounds like an awesome idea. I'll try calling up the schools when I get a chance and try getting that information.

Hmm. I think statistics on scores, such as mean score and spread, might be more interesting and informative, but schools usually don't release this sort of information to the public.

PS: It's COMLEX, by the way, not COMPLEX. ;)

lolsssssssss didn't even realize i wrote it that way hahaa. But you're right spincedmanna, when I give the schools a call when I get a chance, I'll try asking for that kind of information. :D

Thanks for the list

I've been looking for something like this for a while.

Good source, thanks for the compilation.

Im on hold with pcom right now trying to get more recent data.. she doesnt seem very happy with me!

According to her, PCOM Class of 2012 matriculates:

MCAT: 24 (8, 8, 8)
Cum GPA: 3.4
Sci GPA: 3.3

awesome thanks i'll update this for sure. I have a hour or so to kill time so I'm going to try calling some schools to get some stats!

If you end up with discrepant info for a given school, I'd suggest keeping ALL of it and citing each individually, rather than scrapping one set of data for another one deemed more reputable at the time of collection. (i.e., phone call to some random admissions person vs. published website vs. TPR book)

good point, I will definitely do that and keep all stats collected as opposed to replacing them

very nice, much better than the one that was floating around SDN which was ~4-5 years old.

thanks!

This information comes directly from Dr Moore, the director of recruitment at LECOM-E (a friend of mine who is thinking of applying for the next cycle emailed the admissions office for stats, and Dr Moore responded with the following information). The email was forwarded to me and Dr Moore said that it was for the most recent class (I assume this means c/o 2012):

Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine
Class of 2012 Profile:
Science GPA: 3.3
Non-Science GPA: 3.6
Cumulative GPA: 3.45
MCAT: 26

shouldn't this thread qualify a sticky?? haha just a thought!

PCOM is widely considered one of the top DO schools. Does anyone have any insights as to why their numbers are fairly low ?

My guess would be that PCOM is looking for something beyond the typical student. Grades don't always reflect that, so some of the students may have more varied life experiences with a lower GPA. Also, I imagine that is undergrad GPA not graduate GPA; therefore, people with a lower uGPA may have done a master's degree or SMP to be more competitive. Maybe others will have more information on this.

PCOM is weird with their admission, I've noticed. I know they also have a IS preference.

Linked to this thread in the FAQ

Perhaps if we are going to link this to the FAQ we should clear up some confusion that may occur due to sarcasm (aka CBCOM). Maybe it would be best just to link the first post with the compiled data....

Great job researching all of this!
