TouroCOM Master's Program

Hey Everyone!
I was just wondering if anyone has applied for TouroCOM's masters of science in interdisciplinary studies program? I've just sent in my application, and was wondering if anyone else had any information about it. I believe this is the first year they are starting this, but you can correct me if I'm wrong.

Yes, this is indeed their first class. Are you interested in attended Touro Harlem? I know it's a pipeline to their Medical school.

I just heard about the program last week. Sent in my apps....lets see what happens. Did you get an interview already?

Where is there info about this? I applied to Touro-NY and was waitlisted, but I can't seem to find anything about a post-bacc program.

O yea i sent in my application too for this program....did anyone here go for the inteview? how was it? what did they ask you? please let me know thanks!

I received an interview invite for the Masters Program today!!!!!!! Application was submitted April 27th. Does anyone have any interview tips that has already been interviewed for the program? Mine will be May 22nd. I'd greatly appreciate it!

Hey guys,

So if I haven't heard anything yet, does that mean I've been rejected? I called last week and they said they were reviewing my file on Friday morning and that I would hear something by early this week.

Hey , after reading all of these posts i have realized that i am not the only one that has been given broken promises from this administration....and so i no longer take it personal. How many times have i been told that my app would be looked at a certain day and will be notified a certain day....sigh...
Do you have any other prgms as a backup? and no i dont think that u have been rejected but probably placed on a good old waiting list....

Hey all!

I am so sorry no one has gotten back to you. All I know is that my personal email to the incoming class hasn't been sent out yet, which means the class is not finalized yet. I emailed Mrs. Mercado tonight, hopefully I hear back from her tomorrow and will let you guys know when the official final decisions will be made. Good luck to all of those who are still waiting.

If you maintain a 3.5 and pass the comprehensive test you are automatically into the program. but, yes, if the first years drop out/fail out they will pull up from the master's program. Thanks for your insight! I'm also looking into this option if I don't get into a DO school this time around. Do you feel like the masters program prepares you well for the medical program? Also, since you take classes with the DO students, do you have to take these classes again when you are a medical student?

Does anyone know where I can get the application for this program for Fall 2013?

Are there any current/past students in this program that can attest to whether or not they stand by the 2.5 in any pre-req? I have a C- in orgo 2, and I was wondering if they would automatically reject me because of that.

It looks like that provision was deleted from the most recent application. They require an overall GPA of 2.9/4.0.

I checked the 2013 application and it still says that you must have atleast a 2.5 on required courses.

that seems a bit rough since this is supposed to be a program to help people who messed up a class or two.

Good luck getting in contact with anyone, I have called and left messages on both numbers on the application in addition to emailing them to no response...

I got a hold of someone last week I called the number they have in previous posts for lisette mercado, I also spoke with her two months ago regarding the program , i spoke to the director of the program also this past Friday Dr. Prancan he said they're looking for students with mostly A's and B' s keep trying with the calling, maybe the time you call makes a difference? I called at 10 am ... Good luck guys!

Ok so I've tried emailing Lisette Mercado twice to get an application and haven't heard back yet. Is this how everyone else got their application as well, or can I find it elsewhere?

Yes.. Have you gotten in touch with her? I've been able to speak with her by phone and email recently.. Hope you have heard back..

Update: nvm. It says applicants "should" possess such and such numbers. I'll email lisette just to be sure.

just checking up and seeing if anyone has any questions. I am a current master's student at touro, and quite hopeful that i will be a first year next year, if you're concerned about ANYTHING at all, please do not hesitate to ask (preferably message me )

When do you think we'll hear back with decisions? I got an email that my application was complete on the 14th of January. I tried calling today, and emailed, again, no response, not sure if this is a sign on how helpful the school's faculty and staff will be. I don't know how you guys get lucky getting through to them.

I tried asking about the progress of the application process, but unfortunately they couldn't tell me anything. I'm sorry. Just hang in there and keep calling until you speak to someone. Also don't be shy asking about the progress they've made in accepting students. You can also ask them how many students they've accepted so far. If you reach Lisette she is more likely to tell you how many students already got accepted.
