Hey guys, I just found out I was accepted to Nova's MOT program starting June 2012!! Anyone else applying to that program/ have been accepted also?

When did you apply? Did you interview in person? I sent my OTCAS there, but haven't finished applying! I have relatives in South Florida.

I applied but have not heard anything yet. i doubt i got in if I havent heard back

I finished all my apps/ OTCAS at the end of October around the 20th and they sent me an e-mail asking me to interview about a week and a half later. I had a phone interview on Nov. 10th and received an e-mail stating I was accepted on November 14th

Thanks for this information! I will likely finish applying, but even if accepted may turn down. What were your stats if you don't mind me asking?

my stats:

University: University of Central Florida
Major: Pre- Med
Overall GPA: not so good :/ 3.1
Last 60 credit hour GPA : 3.8
GRE: 980 - I'm horrible at standardized tests

Extra-Curric: I work in the Emergency Room as a Scribe doing all the documentation and charting for the doctors. I also was apart of the pre-professional medical society on campus for 3 years getting involved in leadership positions and such.

Volunteer: 56 hours of shadowing OT's. I shadowed one in acute care an one in outpatient rehab.

i am applying to USC. My stats are mediocre- 2.9, GRE 1130,

I just got asked for a phone interview with Nova Southeastern University. I was wondering if you all would able to share any wisdom or experience about the interview process with me.

i had my interview on Thursday. it felt more like a conversation. they were really nice. my interview was about 30-45mins long

Congrats Veggieswirl! I read somewhere that you got into CSUDH. What is your number 2 choice?

Number 2 choice was actually a COTA program, and i got moved up the wait list to fall 2012 from spring 2013.

hi everyone! i am also applying to nsu's mot program starting this June... all of my applications were submitted a couple of weeks ago so right now i am just waiting to hear back for an interview. i am very nervous since this is the only school i have applied to (i live in south florida now, but originally from NJ) so i am keeping my fingers crossed!! i hope i hear back from nsu soon... this waiting is driving me crazy! do they notify you through email or regular mail to schedule the interview?

Hey guys! I have an interview with Nova on Feb 16. I'm so nervous and excited! Anyone have any helpful pointers for me?

Make sure you know the basics...why you want to become an OT, why you chose NSU, your strengths/weaknesses.. They are nice and easy to talk to. Just know your stuff. Hope that helps.

Hey guys! I was just accepted to Nova this past Monday!! I am pretty sure I am going to accept the offer too For those of you who are goin there, have you thought about housing at all??

Congrats on everyone else who got in. Anyone else get accepted ? When does everyone plan to move down to the Davie/ Ft. Lauderdale area. I plan to move somewhere between miami and davie because I have a friend who is attending FIU's DPT program. Is anyone familiar with the area and have any suggestions that are 20 min from each school ?

I will be moving there May 27th. I found out orientation day/first day of school will be May 29th. I plan on staying at Rolling Hills. I heard the traffic there is horrible and it's hard to find parking spaces? It's better to live on campus or near by.

Yay! I was accepted to the program early last week, and I'm going to accept the offer

I'm still debating on staying at Rolling Hills or finding an apartment nearby, but I think I'll be moving there sometime between the 20th and the 25th.

Any suggestions on where to live? I'm from NC and don't know Ft Lauderdale that well.
And any OT students looking for a roommate?!

How long did it take get back to you after your interviews? I have a phone interview coming up next week and I am really hoping for an acceptance to NOVA.

I heard back exactly one week after my interview. They're really quick about it, and the admissions counselor told me that the latest applicants generally hear back is 2 weeks. Good luck!!

Just had my interview... I'm not very confident :/ I was extremely nervous, more than usual. I stumbled throughout my entire interview and had trouble articulating my thoughts. The information I gave I feel was good. I don't know why I was so nervous, probably because I am really looking forward to being enrolled into this university. I'll hear from them in about 2 weeks they said. I'm hoping for the best! Wish me luck everyone! haha =D

eagle88 - I had my interview on the 28th of March too! Let me know if you hear anything and I will do the same! Don't worry about being nervous at the interview . I am sure that they expect you to be and understand after all they are OT's! Good Luck!

haha finding a place is stressful..ive been getting listings but havent found anything im interested in or its too over priced for a crap place. what part of chicago are u from??

You might have luck looking on Craigslist and renting a condo/house from a private owner. There are also reviews online for apartment buildings. Check them out to get reviews from people who live/ or have lived there in the past. Roaches/Mold problems happen in South Florida. You want to find an apartment owner who will take care of these problems if they come up. You also want a gated community in most parts of town.

Im from the northwest suburbs of Chicago.. Palatine, not sure if you're familiar with that town? Where are u from? And have you considered living on campus in Rolling hills? It looks nice but depending on availability I don't wanna get stuck in a single room because theyre so expensive! And are you bringing a car down there? Haha sorry I'm not trying to play 20 questions, I just want to get an idea on what other people are doing.

Is anyone applying to Nova's entry-level OTD hybrid program for summer 2013? Also, if there are any currently enrolled students, how has your experience been so far? How often do students meet for classes on campus, since the majority of the program is offered online? I've always found the OT profession very fascinating and because I've already completed a master's degree online, not mention working full-time, I figured that this program would be extremely feasible or ideal for me to pursue I've just finished completing my OTCAS application and I've noticed that there are very few OT schools, which offer the majority of their programs online that cater fully to the working adult Additionally, is anyone attending Nova's open house for the Health Profession's Division being held at the Tampa campus? I've signed up to attend the open house scheduled for Oct. 13, 2012.

I too applied for the OTD program. I submitted my OTCAS application on Sept 24, I believe and it hasn't been verified yet. I haven't found any information from current students about the OTD program. Good luck

Congrats to everyone who got in! I'm still waiting on an interview invite. I hope I get one soon because I'd love to go to Nova. I just submitted my supplemental earlier this week. I'm being hopeful that I'll hear from them before they go on Christmas break.

I interviewed on Thursday last week, and they said they will let me know after the admissions committee meets at the end of the month! I'm hoping I get accepted, I loved the campus and the OT facility

Yeah I interviewed with them a couple of weeks ago. They did tell me it would take 2-3 weeks for them to get back to me. I have another interview this week but I really wanna go there! I hope both of us get in! =)

I hope so too! I think my interview went okay, but I don't know how much weight the interview holds. Did they ask you anything about individual grades? I had a few classes I didn't do great in and they asked me what happened. I didn't know if they did that with everyone or if it was just me.

Hey congrats. I just got accepted in their DPT program. Bit confused between WJU, CSU and NOVA. plz suggest

I found out yesterday that I was accepted to the MOT program! Still waiting to hear back about the OTD program.
