Default The effect of prolonged computer use on the eye?

I have some questions on this topic.
Is near-sightedness connected to prolonged computer use and if so, why?
Can CVS (Computer Vision Syndrome) lead to permanent problems?

Thank you for taking your time to read this.

Myopia just like many other things in life is partly genetic and partly epigenetic (environmental). The highest risk factor for developing myopia is having two myopic parents. Yes, there is a link between CVS or any kind of long term near work for developing myopia but your genetics play a huge role in determining if in fact you will develop that myopia along with many many other factors.

CVS = accommodative spasm + dry eyes secondary to decreased blink

It does not cause myopia.

You're going to be a real PIA to some OD when you're 45.
