I have some questions on this topic.
Is near-sightedness connected to prolonged computer use and if so, why? Can CVS (Computer Vision Syndrome) lead to permanent problems? Thank you for taking your time to read this. |

4th yr med student, on computer 8-10 hrs/day. baseline premed visual acuity 20/10, 4 years later, currently still visual acuity 20/10. going into rads

Myopia just like many other things in life is partly genetic and partly epigenetic (environmental). The highest risk factor for developing myopia is having two myopic parents. Yes, there is a link between CVS or any kind of long term near work for developing myopia but your genetics play a huge role in determining if in fact you will develop that myopia along with many many other factors.
