How easy is it to get dates with your fellow classmates? If they are not interested in dating, should I look into the other classmen in non-pharmacy related programs? Or what if I'm super busy with school and rotations, should I look up dating potential mates while at rotation sites? How do we find love in schools where people just want to focus on their studies?

Basically, I'm looking for a hot asian pharmacy/medical student who is on her way to making big bucks. She cannot be strongly political (anti-this, pro-that), religious is fine, but not too religious. Her parents must like me, and cannot be strict as to prohibit her spending time with me. She has to be witty and smart, and must be able to make me laugh. She has to love playing video games, and once in a while make a comment on how sexy/hot I am. She has to be liberal enough to get down and dirty with me, but be conservative enough to not cheat on me.

![]() Given how you described yourself - "not athletic, introverted, nerdy" - how many bullet points do you think you'd satisfy on a girl's checklist? Professional schools are full of flawed people expecting their degrees to make up for everything else. Self-awareness is a good thing my friend. |

To her, I'll be the most romantic dude she's ever met in her life. I make her laugh, and she wants to be around me 24/7. I never said I was overweight if that's what you're implying. I'm not athletic in terms that I don't play sports often. I'm normal weight. I'm introverted, but I talk when I need to. I just don't many interesting things to talk about. I'm nerdy in that I understand things being taught to me, but not nerdy enough to recall facts and figures. I make mistakes too. But it doesn't matter because she will love me for having these characteristics. |

Stay out of the same class cookie jar, if possible. Can it be done? Sure, but I wouldn't recommend it.

All that gender role crap is a lot of work. I love my guy friends and I love my girlfriends. I tend to get along with men and confident women best. I'm glad I don't have to find my way around all those "norms". So exhausting! Can't you just be yourself and still be friends with the opposite sex? I often wonder what that's all about. Why IS there so much tension between heterosexual men and women? Can someone please advise. Cannot compute. Is it really just the sex thing because, if it is, that's so sad.

Attraction is NOT a choice Most of the time, if one is attracted to another, then the friendship is shot because the other party wants something more, or tries to manipulate another into liking him/her. The female/male at this point likes being around someone who likes him/her, knowing full well the other party is just a validation point for him/herself, and nothing more will EVER happens... the other party feels like ****, so it's a lose-win, which I will not get my self into |

It's easier for a woman to be friends with a guy than a guy to be friends with a woman. The guy usually wants something more and only befriends the girl as some kind of relationship with her is better than none at all.

I have trouble understanding why men and women have to be friends. We never understand each other. And the dudes who boasts he has a lot of women friends are usually never attractive, he just has them because he talks to much. |

Why men and women can't be friends I still contend it can happen--but it's rare.

I think that's BS...something society trains you to think. It's so limiting. The whole "men are from mars, women from venus" is just sad. Too much emphasis on sex..

Immuno, what the hell is wrong with you...stop hitting on every girl that moves on the internet, bro. Besides, I already tried it...didn't work. Also, they could be a dude or worse...ladyboy.
Anyways, I have female friends I'm not attracted to. To make it work, I dont spend time alone with them when I'm drunk. Sent from my PC36100 |

I honestly believe that women and men cannot be friends. I have never seen a pretty girl/hot dude become friends with a ugly dude/ ugly girl. The reverse though, means the ugly sex wants to become friends to get more. The hotter sex don't choose. The lesser sex beg. I don't have female friends, and I make that choice because in the past, I be "friends" with those I like. The ones I'm not attracted to I pretend to be their friends.
Let's say you disagree with me on this. Then ask yourself this: why on EARTH would you want to be friends with the opposite sex? If you want a female sex friend, get married. You won't understand each other, but that's the passion. If you are friends with too much women, then you end up understanding them. You can't tie yourself down with one person if you have too many other potential companions to choose from because you open your mouth to every opposite sex you see. I believe men interacting with females outside of pursuing a relationship ruins the romance with another spouse, and this is why the divorce rate is so high in this country. You meet your girl, you get past the mooning phase, and you go "oh, well she's not like the past 50 females I've had. She walks funny compared to my other female friends.....etc." Lol also many people tend to misconstrued friendship with acquaintances. Just because two people talk to each other in class, and occasionally an entire group of people (which happens to include the two persons) go out to lunch, doesn't make the two friends. |

But like I said before. I think it is possible if they are NOT attracted to each other. If a guy I am NOT attracted to is very nice and cool I would be friends with him. I don't mind my boyfriend being friends with other women (as long as the woman isn't super hot) I know nothing will happen and I don't care. If the woman is super hot then something WILL happen, so therefore I would prefer they don't hangout alone...but most women aren't super hot, so I really have nothing to worry about. haha... But yeah, guys and girls can be friends if they are not attracted to each other. I'll give you an example, I have a male friend that is really cool and he is my good friend. He looks just like Usher and has his body type and everything. Tons of women find him super attractive. I do NOT though...(I prefer dating within my own race) so therefore I would never date him. But he is my friend. We went on trips together, we talk on the phone all the time, we hangout and everything. He really is just my friend and I would never date him. It can happen.

Example of value: -A joker -An understanding woman -Certain skill set (you like being around he/she because he/she has a skill you can learn) -A confidant -Being generous/confident/decisive/resourceful -Someone who makes you feel good -Someone who is worse off than you (yes, some people like other people to suffer even though they don't want to admit it) -Someone who is good looking (yes, it makes you feel good to have good looking gf/bf/friends) Anything that you may feel is worth to interact with Someone who suck value: -Pessimist (Debbie downer) -Can't vibe with another person (disconnected) -Really ugly/disgusting people (they normally don't have many friends, do they?) -Quiet people (they suck value without providing anything...) -Beggars (that's why woman runs away if you beg, same analogy) A lot of these seem superficial but you get my point. As long as you can exchange value with anyone, friendship can/will happen. Last edited by Momus; 04-27-2012 at 11:31 PM. |

The point is if you are a successful guy and tons of women wants to be your friend...well they WANT SOMETHING. Please don't be stupid and NOT realize this. ![]() Like Momus have say...people aren't stupid, they don't become your friend UNLESS they get some benefit from YOU. All the women that are friends with my ex. They WANT something from him DUH! Why else will they be his friend? They either want #1, 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6 from him. They want something from him. If they didn't want anything from him they would NOT be his friend. Men need to wake up and stop thinking a woman wants to be your friend for nothing. They ALL want something. Please don't be stupid. Life isn't as superficial as you view it through your tainted shades. Friendship and relationships aren't all built on motives as you speak of. Yes there are diggers in life who only try to benefit through others.
But until you learn to realize the importance shared values in life with people closest to you, you will lead a shallow existence always searching to fill the bottomless void that will never get filled. [QUOTE=SHC1984;12449114]This is where men are the dumbest...sorry to say. HAHA...I was telling my ex this and he won't believe it, but it's 100 percent true. Women will want to be friends with men that are rich and successful. When they see a rich and successful guy they will all try to be "friends" with him. Well they are only trying to be friends with him b/c 1) they want to get $$$ benefits. 2) they want to date you b/c you have $$$. 3) you might be their boss one day and they want a job promotion. 4) they want sex. 5) they just want your money. 6) they want you to do a favor for them. The point is if you are a successful guy and tons of women wants to be your friend...well they WANT SOMETHING. Another controversial subject: I think me and SHC see eye to eye because we know Asian dudes have it the hardest. I've known Asian dudes who hates me because I can talk to women. Some will do anything (even give rides to females who lived the opposite side of town) just so the girls will even look at them. The hardest one hit are the fobby Asians. In high school, one of my friend would not help his buddies out with homework, but as soon as a girl ask, he would jump to it. Sorry to say that it's a sad sight. |

One of my friends in school is female, but we both have significant others and we aren't into each other at all. My girlfriend has gotten jealous in the past "come on, you've gotta think she's hot, look at her" but I honestly do not think of her that way. We're just students with similar philosophies and attitudes, and do a good job on group projects. Is there some exchange, or do we want things from each other? Yep, we help each other out on homework and projects all the time, and we give each other somebody to shoot the chit with between classes. Oh, and SHC, you can have #4 anytime you like ![]()

Why do I do it? Some examples... 1. They may have hot friends I like to meet. 2. They are fun and helpful in certain areas for advice and things. 3. They can be better than wingmen. 4. They provide good company. Aren't u tired hanging out with guys all the time? 5. They can be like ur little dorky sisters u don't have. I treat my gf differently than my female friends. I don't open door for them for example, but lock the door after me to see their reaction. I don't try to get in their pants. Just like how I treat my guy friends. If they gain weight, I'll tell them the truth. If I get married, then I may stop seeing female friends for my wife if she cares. |

I would NEVER data anyone in my class (if I was single). It just strikes me as being a setup for a disaster. Any time there's a falling out, that stuff spreads like wildfire. When you have organizational meetings with 100+ members in attendance, and classroom lessons with 100+ students around you, do you really want them all whispering about you? Hit up the undergrads, have some fun, and worry about a serious relationship when you have the time.
