I canceled my interview with MCPHS because I got accepted to my top choice school. I was scheduled for Nov. 19th, so if someone was looking to switch dates, there may be a spot open now. I can't guarantee they will let you, but you can try. Good luck to everyone trying to get in here! Congrats to those who got accepted already! |

Hey guys,
I'm a current P1 here. If you have any questions feel free to ask. I noticed a lot of people asking about the interview. It is really not bad. It's very comfortable and pretty much like having a normal conversation with someone. The faculty here is great. All of my friends here have said the same thing, that interview wasn't nearly as bad as they thought it would be. And if the essay is like last year, it's just a list of questions, you choose one and write about it. They aren't hard questions at all. They're geared toward personal experiences. Good luck to anyone who has upcoming interviews. |

I'm trying to get my information together to apply by February. I did my bachelors in England so I think there may be some required classes I didn't take at the college level. For example I know calculus and physics were not required for us. I'm getting a copy of my transcript to take to meet with a counselor to discuss.
Does anyone know if I need to take them before I apply or if I can be conditionally accepted pending taking a few classes at night? I worked for three years in a pharmacy in England doing everything the Pharmacist did so I know it's the career for me. I just don't want to have to put it off for another year. Thanks!! |

Hi everyone! I'm interviewing in two days and I'm extremely nervous! What types of questions should I be prepared to answer? What are the essay topics?

Current P1 here. Living on campus is really convenient. If you're looking for your own apartment I know that a lot of people live at Skymark Tower (I'm not sure how good it is). There are plenty of places close by. Just remember that if you want to commute, parking is VERY expensive if you're not able to get a parking pass. FYI, parking pass preference is given to on-campus residents.

It's intense. You're looking at about 18 units a semester of science courses. It definitely tests you. Requires a lot of commitment to studying. You can't get behind, or you'll suffer. But it's doable, and the time flies by.

I got a response today after my interview for PharmD on Oct. 28 in Worcester, MCPHS. They put me in waiting list. I am so upset about it.I did not expect to be in waiting list.I have good GPA (3.71) with BS in Chemistry. I am so upset about it and this is the only college I have applied for. I am completely clueless about to what to do. I still have Bio II and MicroBio grade to be submitted. Is it the reason of why I am still on waiting list? can anyone suggest me anything? I will highly appreciate it. Thank you so much.

(b/c I know ppl w/lower stats than u have been accepted) There's not much u can do once you're on waiting list other than to update them with anything new that you feel would help out ur application. I would suggest adding more schools to pharmcas since it's still early in the cycle. good luck ! |

hopefully it all works out. All I have to say is that GPA isn't the only things that schools look at. They also want to make sure that you can handle their program, fit in with the people, know why you want to be there and whatnot. Just because you have a good GPS doesn't mean anything per se. For instance if you weren't able to write a coherent essay or you didn't interview well people may have thought that you wouldn't be able to handle the class load or didn't give a good enough reason why they should have chosen you. I mean I know personally I am coming in with a BS in Biochemistry where my GPA for my undergraduate degree was only a 3.09. SO clearly GPA wasn't the only aspect they took into consideration when accepting people. |

Once you are invited to the interview, GPA does not matter anymore. Really, nothing in your application matters anymore because they already feel as though your stats are good enough/competitive enough for their program. |

Tuesday/Thursday: 9-10 or 10-11 (Service Learning***) 1:30-2:30 Intro to Pharmacy Care Wednesday, everything from monday, but add Pharmacy Law at 4-6 Friday: Physiology and Health Care at the same times as Monday and Wednesday Service Learning requires one hour of class time for group discussion and later on in the semester everyone gives a presentation. The other part of the course is 2 hours per week volunteering at a community service site in Worcester. The summer before classes begin, the chance to put in service learning site preferences is open. A lot of people end of doing their 2 hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays, since those days are the most open. |

Congratulations to you as well! I'm a man. I don't really know what I'm gonna do about housing yet. I'm just excited right now. Once this high calms down a bit, I'll start looking at that and financial aid/loans and stuff. Is there a facebook page for MCPHS c/o 2015?

Yes, I am definitely going to this school. In fact, I will be canceling all of my upcoming interviews so I can use the money for the 750 dollar deposit instead of airline tickets, hotels, car rentals, etc. If you start a fb page, I will join. Lol.

The MCPHS administrators created a Facebook page for my current class, so I'm sure they'll be doing the same once more people have been accepted and in turn accept the offer of admission.
Congratulations as well. |

The nuclear power training pipeline in the Navy was hell, but I made it through that and a bunch of deployments underway. 6 years in the Navy flew by. I'm sure 3 years in Mass will fly by as well.

LOL OK! will create one then! and about the person talking about bad reputation, remember you can always make a difference. instead of talking about drop out rate you should think about the naplex passing rate. This school prepares you for real life! its the second oldest pharmacy school in the country so if it was that bad, i am sure it would have been gone by now
