They are rolling. However, from what I have heard most acceptances come a little later rather than earlier (and first post!)

Sure. I'm out of state. GPA 3.58, MCAT 39R, computer science major from a state school. One year of non-clinical but service-oriented volunteering, some shadowing / leadership ECs, and a bit over a year of research at NIH.

You're one of about forty interviewees and there are about ten slots for entering MD-PhD students. It seems to be a pretty good program that will go to bat for their MSTP fellows and there seems to be, as far as I could tell, good camaraderie even between MD-PhD and PhD students. Best of luck. I can confirm that they're rolling, since I got accepted...

At the interview they told us that they make some decisions at the monthly (or so?) adcom meeting.

Anyone know when Hopkins is sending out their first round of acceptances? When I interviewed there they said it would be the end of November, but it would be great if someone knew a specific date (basically the school blew my mind and the wait is killing me now, haha).

No idea. I think that they will send the first few out in November, but may send out others later. I'm in the same boat... I absolutely loved Hopkins and would be sooooo happy if I got in. Best of luck.... I hope you get an acceptance soon!

Thanks! You too! Yeah, they definitely send out some in Feb. The guy I stayed with interviewed really early but only got the acceptance then. I just reeeeaaallly want to know what day they'll be sending them out in November

I suppose that is why you felt the need to edit your post? Just be nice on these boards.....this is the first time I have commented, though I have wanted to say something to you for months. There are actually backdoor conversations about how rude you commonly are to folks going on so maybe you want to consider what you are saying.

Personally, I feel if you aren't going to share information with the others on this board, then you likely don't have the right to comments on others posts. It seems pretty cowardly to me.

And as to you reviewing my grant applications.....remember it goes both ways, and I'm already reviewing grant applications, so maybe some of them have been yours. If the science is good it should be funded....personality and personal attacks are what bring science, which should be pure and true, into the trenches. Hopefully you won't contribute to that....but perhaps that is who you want to be. It isn't who I want to be professionally or personally.

Congrats!

I think they change the status as soon as they send out the letters. I didn't check religiously but I got a letter, went to the website and saw the status change. Then a few days later I got a call.

What is the protocol for acceptances and revisits? I have not completed most of my interviews yet, so for the University of Nebraska acceptance is it okay to tell them I am still definitely interested in the program but need time to visit the other schools?

We should only do revisits to programs that we are seriously considering correct? It does not seem fair to revisit somewhere that you just somewhat want to go to... Thanks!

As long as you're honest with the school, and aren't holding acceptances or revisiting schools that you would definitely not attend... then you're fine. Choosing a program is a big decision, the schools should understand that you want to consider all of your options.

I'm going to assume you aren't the type of person that would take up a revisit spot for another candidate that actually wants to go there.

Were you notified of the acceptance via e-mail?

I have not completed most of my interviews yet, so for the University of Nebraska acceptance is it okay to tell them I am still definitely interested in the program but need time to visit the other schools? We should only do revisits to programs that we are seriously considering correct? It does not seem fair to revisit somewhere that you just somewhat want to go to... Thanks!
