I got 240s on both step 1 and step 2, and when i walked out of these exams, I was confident I passed. Walking out of this step 3 exam I felt like crap. Day 2 was better, but still bad. I felt like I barely passed day 2, but did not do well enough to make up for Day 1. Questions were just so long and I had no focus left. CCS was okay for me, I'm a little freaked out because all my cases ended very early before I got the chance to fully manage the patient. Very simple cases too, so I felt like I was missing something. But, I'm dreading opening my score report up. I was frantically searching this forum and saw there is quite a few people that thought they had screwed up but ended up passing. I prey to God every night that I pass b/c I don't know what I'll do if I fail. I guess I was just looking for some moral support, and also if there are any others that feel the same as I do? How many questions do you think I can miss to garner a passing score? I'm pretty sure I missed at least 35% of the questions at least--I hate those sequential ones b/c I usually got the first one wrong once you see the follow-up. |

Best of luck. I think in general a CCS case ending quickly is a good sign as you have done what you were supposed to do. The CCS cases are simple (at least in my n = 1 experience) and I don't think you are expected to see the entire admission through. A STEMI you start on medications (ASA, heparin, nitro, ect) and send to cath lab but you don't have to do all the subsequent management.
I totally agree with the sequential ones where you see you missed it - so annoying. No idea about how many you can miss to pass. As you said a lot of people don't feel great about the test after taking it so hang in there. Don't hate yourself. Wait and see. Hopefully you passed and worse case scenario you can try again (I know that would suck but you can still be a great doctor). |
