anyone from c/o 2015 remember if they waited until the last second?

this is so irritating. also sorry for the heart-in-throat, ilovemystic.

patience is not my strong suit.

I'VE NEVER FELT THIS ANXIOUS AND CRAZY I literally can't focus on anything until they send those emails out!! It is DEFINITELY this Friday, right??

I remember Dr. Pelzer saying that they "should have them out by next Friday". Sadly, I never heard her use any absolutes.

on a scale of 1-ridiculous, how bad would it be if i called them to see?
or... would/could it jeopardize an acceptance? they don't always necessarily ask "who am i speaking to?," right?

According to last years thread they got emails around 4, but they also found out the Wed after so who knows.

I doubt very seriously that it would jeopardize your current standing. The admissions staff are always very nice and accommodating, at least in my experience. I don't think I'd bother them though. They have to have received a ton of calls and emails already, and your call won't change anything in regards to their timeline. We just have to sit and suffer some more.

Last year they did wait till 4 or 5 but it was the Wed after interviews... and that was after a day and a half of technical difficulties.... So I have absolutely no idea what's going on this time! lol

I've been a lurker on here for awhile, but as I sit waiting (very impatiently!) to hear back from VMRCVM, I figured I'd say hello and commiserate with all of you who are waiting too!

This has been the most unproductive day EVER as I must have checked my email 325082 times already

Hi! I was doing the same thing...just lurking and reading posts, but today I decided to actually join in. I'm dying trying not to constantly refresh my inbox and this offers a great outlet for my frustration. :P

okay... it's now 4:30. come on...

If we don't hear back today.....I really pray for my sanity! I'm literally just sitting in front of my computer, I've given up all attempts to distract myself.

i'd be willing to call if someone can find me a number... i'm half sort of in the middle of an experiment and can't look...

This is crazy!! I can't concentrate on anything!!! I have my phone and computer in front of me in case one gets the email before the other. I am such a bundle of nerves!!!

I think one person should take the initiative, call, and report back here. I'm sure there are many more people watching this thread than the people who post. Yes, the office may be busy, but one phone call to put everyone here on the forums at ease is worth it. I didn't interview, but I am hoping that some friends get accepted. I'm also waiting on my official rejection.

I promised yesterday if 4:30 rolled around today and we still hadn't heard anything, I'd call.

So I did.

But it went to voice mail. I'm sure they're inundated with hundreds of nervous interviewees (I mean heck, my hands are shakin'), but it'd be nice to hear what was going on!

Haha yeah... prolly best to not distract them. I dunno though. I mean I don't know if this has to do with acceptance status but the application status being changed to "decision made" makes me feel very much as though my standing as a student is the decision that's been made... and it's been like that for a couple days. :/ I'd just like to know what that decision iiiisss!

Unrelated sidenote: there's no hair-pully-outey emote. I think this thread needs one, haha.

My status changed to that right when they offered me my interview, so I'm completely positive it has no bearing on our current statuses.

just looked. my status still says "under review," i really don't think it's relevant to acceptances? i think it's just for interviews... my status never changed period.

My status never changed either. Not sure what its purpose is at this point..

Okay, good! My status never changed either, and I was beginning to think I was the only one......I have no idea what it means anymore, I've been checking it periodically but have pretty much accepted that it probably means absolutely nothing as far as acceptances etc. go.

Hahahahah literally I poured myself a glass about 45 min ago.....just me, my computer, and a nice glass of wine. Picturesque!

I'm hoping that they're literally waiting until the minute they walk out of their offices to send out emails....the vet school's going on Spring Break this weekend, so I would think they would want to let us know before that....but who knows! Then they wouldn't have to deal with us for a week!

Do they not have the same break schedule as Virginia Tech? We're just finishing up ours. But I guess it wouldn't make sense for them to promise a Friday deadline if they're on break.

... Do the offices even go on break, though?

Yeah I think the vet school is different than the rest of Tech, it's on their calendar for Spring 2012 on their website.....and I'm not sure if the offices do or not, but in any event, I hope they will come to the agreement that it would be in everyone's best interest to tell us today!!

I'm actually not a PVC member, and I have no idea why. I just never joined it! I'm an Animal and Poultry Sciences major though. How about you?

I'm actually not a PVC member either, but I've gone to meetings here and there and wondered if I'd ever seen you before, haha.

I'm a bio major, but I work in an APSC lab! =D I do avian immunology with Dr. Dalloul.

has anyone emailed? i presume they won't answer, but maybe if someone emailed them earlier in the day, or yesterday, and got a response?

I guess they aren't sending them out today. To be honest, I've been very disappointed in the whole admissions process at VMRCVM. Our group was told "admissions status will be emailed on Friday." Not "we'll try," or "hopefully." It's a little inconsiderate to tell students when decisions will be sent, and then to not send them and not even send students an email explaining any technical difficulties or delay in the decision process. I know they are busy and that might sound a little self-centered, but COME ON you have 300 people waiting to hear back from you!

Or maybe I'm just grumpy because I've had a cold for 10 days that won't go away!

This is how I feel, too. :/

Dr. Pelzer said the data would be available as early as Tuesday, and we'd hear by Friday. It's Friday. =( If something has gone terribly awry, please let me know something has gone terribly awry. =( My heart can't take it! Haha.

EDIT - Also... I mean this also sounds completely self-centered, but I would /think/ that, as the Office of Admission for VMRCVM, this would be their top priority? Issuing admission letters? =/

I agree with this completely! Not only is it inconsiderate, but it is unprofessional.

I know everyone is a bit disappointed, but we all survived not hearing today, and though it's hard, we just have to wait for admissions to get everything straightened out. I wouldn't want them to rush and miss sending out decisions to some people! It has to be a complicated process, and with the 40 at large student pool, which is brand new, things may have been more difficult this year. There isn't anything more we can do except be patient and wait.

I'm just beginning to wonder if when they said "next Friday," they actually meant the 16th. When I had my interview on Saturday, at first I thought they DID mean that they were going to discuss applicants "next weekend," meaning the 10th and 11th, then let us know that following Friday. But I was really hoping that I had just heard that terribly wrong, because why wait a week to decide???

I just don't know how I can push through another week

Hm... I never got that impression, but no one in my group asked to clarify... perhaps. Illinois took 2 weeks getting back to me, so I suppose it's not all that unreasonable...
