Program Director: Stephen K. Tyring, MD, PhD, MBA Availability: July 1, 2012 The Center for Clinical Studies in Houston, Texas has availability for 3 clinical research fellows, starting July 1, 2012. The fellows will be involved in a variety of clinical research projects involving the treatment of psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, acne, herpes zoster, herpes genitalis, HPV and cutaneous infections as well as vaccines for prevention of a number of skin diseases. The clinical research fellows will have the opportunities to publish and present at local and national meetings as well as to collaborate with scientists in Dr. Tyring's viral immunology laboratory in the Department of Dermatology at the University of Texas Health Science Center (UTHSC), Houston. The fellows will also have opportunities to work with Dr. Tyring and Dr. Karan Sra in their private clinic caring for a variety of dermatological problems as well as learning basic dermatological surgery techniques. Fellows may attend local meetings such as the combined University of Texas Houston/ Baylor School of Medicine Dermatology Rounds, The Houston Dermatological Society, etc. as well as national meetings, e.g. the American Academy of Dermatology annual meeting. Since 1991, a total of 34 clinical research fellows have completed one or two years of training with Dr. Tyring; 32 of the physicians have gone onto dermatology residency after the training. Requirements: The applicant should have completed a minimum of PGY1 and must be eligible to obtain a Texas medical license. http://www.ccstexas.com/about.html How have your 3 currrent fellows done in the match? As you're advertising well before rank lists being turned in, did they end up getting out-of-match dermatology residency spots? |

Update: One of our fellows was just taken outside the match. So now, of 3 fellows, only 1 is currently unmatched and going through the match process.
