I watched the movie. I attempted to read the first book. (started it 3 times). Someday I'll finish it

I'm not saying that just because I have the item makes me not a wolf, I'm saying that's the only reason I can think of for wld to pinpoint me as worth taking down in exchange for herself.

nah there's another reason why I questioned this. I know that things can be given to wolves.

Blah! Just re-read this in wildcatj's post about the bow and realized that makes me either look like I don't know what I'm talking about, or a wolf (or both )! What I meant was: There are quite a few more of us (i.e. villagers) than them (wolves).

Probably just killed myself with that, so I will offer up what little info I have: I started with the one ring yesterday, put it on last night, nothing happened, and I lost it.

I don't think that got you killed

Guessing the ring is protective. It made frodo invisible (but then the riders could sniff him out). Oh I don't know!!!

Yes be very careful what you post - people have been lynched in the past for misspeaking (some innocent, some not).

I dunno. The ring itself was also kinda malevolent and corrupted its wearer, right? I could see it doing more than being protective. Or something other than protective.

Not finished reading the thread but I wanted to address this since I knew my activity level would be pointed out as 'unhedgie-like'. I started a new job this week at the humane society. Yesterday was my first real day and it was insane. We had so much to do we didn't get lunch until an hour and a half after the scheduled time and that was after the election so I didn't bother to say anything. Today I checked in on the thread during lunch but no one voted and I didn't want to start it since I don't really have any ideas.

Back to read the rest of the thread and vote.

Protection from the nazgul - not likely because just as you said, the riders could see him easily with it on. Protection from a lynch though... That may make more sense (the ring does make you invisible to "normal" elves, men, dwarves, etc.)

And to LIS: absolutely correct regarding the ring's penchant for corruption (in the books). Don't know if that's the case in this game . I would think there is a greater chance for that the longer one has the ring (in the story, Gollum had the ring for hundreds of years which is why he looked the way he did).

The ring is also personified in the story as trying to make its way to its master (changing size to become too big for ones finger, causing it to fall off and become lost/found by another). Not sure if that mechanic is in play for this game or not...

Good grief! Go away for a couple of hours and kabam! Anyway, mods, where do you get off giving the Bow of Galadhrim to a non Mirkwood dweller?!? Tsk, tsk, tsk... But, if it glowed, we have no choice but to follow its magic...

Lynch Wildcatj

Now, having been able to skim most of the rest of the posts, I have to agree that having nine wolves would be a ridiculous number for the mods to follow. Although the evils are mentioned in the nine rings (WELL done, Pep! ), the mods don't appear to be following the story to a 'T'. After all, why would the 'one ring' be given to someone outside of the Shire? I assumed that 'The Ring' would be given to Frodo, Samwise, Merry or Pippen. However, now that it's been lost we're going to have to wait for it to be found once again and perhaps its powers will be seen...

I've gotta catch a train, but will try to come up with a theory on how many evil doers there might be...

Or like protection? Since frodo went invisible when wearing it? Maybe it protects you only if you are being attacked

Sorry, I only meant to quote this part but apparently I can't go back and edit so...

So I would think this mechanic is being used since you said the ring did nothing for you.

"Wildcatj is evil! You got to believe me," screamed wldlfstdnt

And they all did, converging around wildcatj, and no matter what excuses could be made up in the end wildcatj (Sauron) was dead. But can such evil truly stay dead?

Night 2 will end at 8am PST or once all PM's are received!

Day 2 lynch results

1 orca2011
- (DVMDream)
21 wildcatj- (wldlfstdnt, TW, dyachei, orca2011,squirrel, cuitasd, sheepdog, Nyanko, LIS, phill, Sns, peper, SOV, zany, devyn, firefly, jj, kaydubs, hedgie, LMMS, karuku)

Yay!!!! Awesome job Wldlfstdnt! So cool we got a wolf on the first lynch.

Sauron is freaking scary at least from what I remember from the movies - I would not want to encounter him IRL!

OMG, Aragorn and Sauron the first two to go down?

Um. Yow. Except for the bit about Sauron staying dead.

Way to go wldlfstdnt!! I really hope he doesn't come back, and that was just a mod's way of adding suspense

Oooh yeah, that may be. Maybe in the hands of a wolf the ring will bring back Sauron?! That would suck.

If she came back, I would probably be the first to go.

I am glad we got her though.

I am guessing we don't want the ring falling into the hands of the wolves. I doubt there is much we can do about it.

One (wild) theory. Since the ring was lost after one night (which could be random), perhaps if we pass it to Frodo, he can keep it all game and keep it from wolves. Sometimes you can pass items. So if you get the ring, and you know who Frodo is, might be worth a try to ask Mods to pass the ring to him.
