I was at a social event at which idk people classify as a mid-tier school idk? Any way I met with a premed so full of himself that I couldn't believe it. He told me and a group of guys that he was coming to even though he was wait listed just so he could be with his son but he had many options. He told us he was a nuclear professor in the navy, he got accepted full ride to Harvard, Hopkins and Cornell but he was going to turn them down to wait for . This guy was extremely cocky and I could smell the BS from a mile. Why would someone turn down supposedly full rides to top tiers for a wait list in a mid-tier? LoL

True, but as a med student, don't you have more important things to worry about?

We don't know if it was the same guy yet, but based on the OP's description, I noticed several parallels to the person described and someone I met at an interview.

Exactly! that's him for sure. He's like 5`11, medium build and like you said African American, trimmed Beard and short thinning hair looks like in his late 20s. wow can't believe this idiot was going around boasting every where. What school did you meet him at?

He wasn't boasting about full rides, but he did talk about himself a lot. That's the only way I was able to identify him based on your description.

This is a little off topic, but it is interesting how small the world can be at times. There was this one girl I saw at two different interviews.

Maybe it was need-based? Do H&H give full-tuition need-based scholarships? Some people in the Hopkins thread have been commenting on how generous the financial packages are.

I'm sorry maybe I'm being mean right now but I can tell when someone is trying to show off. This guy was like soooooo full of himself that I was like whatever man I have to go peace. With his type of attitude no **** he got waitlisted to VCU and is still taking all the desperate measures to get accepted.

Okay this is insane. I guess info spreads like fire on SDN but I talked to this same exact individual yesterday evening and just to be clear he told a group of us guys the same story. He's a light skinned African American with a very closely trimmed beard.

Haha looks like this guy is quite popular. Good God I do know a light-skinned African American male with a neatly trimmed beard planning on VCU next year (probably not the guy you guys are talking about, cause the guy I know is pretty humble and cool).

So this guy has appeared to many people across the country, seemingly all at once, speaking of unbelievable things.

I thought the guy was nice, he was talking to everybody but I'm sure some thought he was talking a little too much about himself and his accomplishments.

+1 that was awesome.

Welcome to the medical profession guys. Everyone hates on everyone because everyone thinks they are the most awesome and everyone else's accomplishments are worthless.

Thats why I never went to class ever during M1/M2. Its a living hell to be around other med students!
