So is different for USA and Canada??ur the expert ;-)
When did I say I am the expert??? I asked my school and they said DDS is a graduate program. I needed that information while I was filling my FAFSA application. You ask your school and see what they say.

hi. i have a few questions. I am on H4 visa and was planning to go to India before school starts. my H4 visa is not stamped and my husband's green card is about to be filed. Has anybody heard of any dental student being denied or detained during the visa interview?

second question.. also heard that we have to show assets worth the loan amount in order to get the I 20.. is that true?

thanks in advance

Accommodation hunting seems such a task. I am new to this and will be moving all the way from india and don't have any previous experience in this matter. Please guide as in when should I be looking to confirm the lease and all? Somebody please suggest how to go about it I would like to stay in walking distance from school at least the initial 6 months or so just to settle in. Please suggest some apartments or buildings if somebody knows??? Looking for just a studio all for myself and don't want to shell a lot of money. What's the best thing to do???

New york..across the school: waterside plaza, kips bay, styvesant township
Newport: Waterfront apartments, avalone cove
Journal Square: there are no specific buildings as such..you can search on craiglist...most of them are houses in which owner gives away floors for rent like one floor may be 2 or 3 bedroom...lot of cheap 1 bedrooms available too...just search craiglist or any rental site...jersey city heights is good option too in terms of houses but it may get tedious as you have to shuttle and stuff..so look at places closer to the PATH

I think we would make it to private once everyone enters the group and classes start. Till then let everyone enter at ease..

no the schedule for payments for all students is the same...I may be wrong but as far as I remember( and even my payments statement show) is that the first loan got disbursed in July/august..they had given us an amount to be paid in may but all our payments got done only in July/August...you can confirm with the school too

Guys ...I have a GC and haven't heard from the school regarding FAFSA. They are telling me they will get in touch with me at the end of April. The deadline for fees is the 1st of May. What if I dont get the entire amount through FAFSA ? Should I be looking into private loans already...

I called the school and they say just wait for now...

Any experience with regards to this will help...

you can borrow as much as you need in Graduate Plus loans. there is no limit. You should have an "acceptable" credit history or a co-signer.

"Your school's financial aid office can provide instructions on how to apply for a PLUS Loan and may offer the option of completing the PLUS application and MPN online at www.studentloans.gov."

black and white is good enough..but just to let you know NYU gives you free prints every year(limited but way too much )..so you can just go to the library and take out whatever print you need

appu09 thanks for your consistent responses and help. I wanted to ask you that nyu has recently given tuition estimate of 31,457$ (tuition fees) and a total of 46,418$ in total for the fall semester. So, the next semester fees will be like another 31,475$ or again the 46,418 ??
