I took AAMC 5 last Friday night. I did OK on VR and Bio (11 and 10; made some dumb mistakes on bio, and am confident I can raise my score with a little more respirator/cardiovascular study.) But PS, man... I only got a 6!

I don't even know where to start trying to tackle this. Strategies to bring up PS in the next few weeks? haha.

Procyon - The BS section was so f*cking stupid!! An entire passage on evolution! That's when I realized "okay, so maybe i DO need to learn evolution after all."

Yeah, I was pretty surprised about that passage, too. I thought that passage with the weird protist life-cycle was a little intense too. haha

Yeah, I've gotten into the habit of not reading the entire passage before attempting the questions, but after AAMC 5 I decided to change up my habits. Half the bio questions were straight from the passages, which is frustrating because it just reminds me how useless studying content really is

[This is me venting...]

So I decided to take a free FL from TPR... And in the middle of my verbal exam (right after I finished passage IV), they gave an error message. Didn't seem like too big of a deal because TPR has a "suspend" button, which will bring you back to where you left off if you click on it. So I click on suspend, close the browser and reopen the test....

......only to find out they didn't save any of my progress!!! AAAHHHHHHHHHH
That PS section was tough(compared to the aamc FL's)!!! And I don't feel like re-answering all 52 questions again plus the 4 VR passages I did

UGGHHHHHHH total waste of time....

Don't be surprised if you get a stupid passage on the real deal that throws you off. I had one on goat feces and when I read it I thought I was dreaming.

I'm taking AAMC 8 tomorrow, but I can't get myself to study this evening! Anyone else feeling burnt out and just BORED with MCAT? I know this is crunch time and I should be pushing myself to learn as much as possible, especially since I need to max out my score to make up for a crappy gpa, but all I really want to do is go have a beer with some friends.

I hear you. One month ago, the thought of me getting on Xbox live was ridiculous. Now I'm on it daily

A quick glance at the 4/5 thread was enough to restart the panic/motivation. It's terrifying to see folks come out feeling like it was WAY harder than the AAMCs - how are we supposed to prepare if even the "official" prep materials aren't indicative of the real thing!?

I saw both of those games yesterday. I agree that Griffin dunk was pretty sick, I mean both of the dunks. But I liked the one where Gasol fell down and cried to the ref. I also like how he committed a turn-over b/c Griffin wrapped his arms around him. LOL.

the interview was hilarious. van gundy is like "yeah, management just told me he wants me fired" and 5 seconds later he comes and is like "what are you guys talking about? who said that? i never said anything like that"

I don't buy it. i'm pretty sure dwight is lying, which sucks because he's an awesome guy and it sucks that he made such a poor decision. this is really going to hurt his image

Wait until you get to the last couple EK tests... I think its the last 2, might be just the one before the last. But I heard it had some pretty crazy answers, I doubted it, but found out it was true.

The 4/5 folks say PS was very hard. That's bad news because I always run out of time when doing calculation-heavy questions.

Btw, you guys plan on doing anything to prep for the WS section at all ?

PS 12 (1 question away from a 13 and I definitely had 1 question where i read the numbers backwards)
BS 10 (1 question away from an 11)
VR...7..I zoned out during the entire VR section and clearly its showed...really don't know what made me zone out that bad but I'm hoping I don't get a repeat for AAMC 5. esp since my EK verbal average has been ~10, and I got a 10 on AAMC 3 verbal

I had a 6 on AAMC3 VR. When I was reviewing the VR section for that FL, I felt totally dumb. I could have gotten an 8 at least. I can feel that I kind of was not focused entirely on the passages I guess.

So guys, i have a question for you all. I was reading the 4/5 thread and started wondering... what if we got a tough exam too? With unexpected topics or calculations, or whatever. And we're gonna get our score right when we have to send in our primary app. So, what are you guys gonna do IF for any reason, you don't get a good enough score? Let's say 28 or 29? Or whatever score you think is borderline. Would you push through with the application? Retake over the summer?

I think this will highly likely happen. Though, according to my little investigation on all previous threads, i.e. 1/27, 1/28, 3/24, a majority of them had their scores quite close to their AAMC average.

This is the question I've been asking myself more than 100 times since the beginning of my study. I'll probably do both.

Btw, study hard, hope, and pray !

ugh I woke up with a pounding headache, runny nose, and a super sore throat and a general feeling of getting hit by a car. Definitely gonna push AAMC 5 to sunday and spend today and tomorrow just hitting some of my weak points.Studying is boring on a normal day, doing it while feeling terrible doesn't help -_-

And we're gonna get our score right when we have to send in our primary app. So, what are you guys gonna do IF for any reason, you don't get a good enough score? Let's say 28 or 29? Or whatever score you think is borderline. Would you push through with the application? Retake over the summer?
If I score on the high 20s, I'd still apply. But I'm also applying both MD and DO and I still have to re-write my personal statement and all that. But I'm going to worry about all that after the test.

EDIT: And we all have like a week to either cancel or reschedule, I hope I keep my AAMC averages on the 30s range or at least over 27 to keep my confidence up.

i'm wondering because i'm traveling the next day after our mcat and have to be out of the country for 3months. I can actually retake it abroad if i will need to, but i don't know if i should be taking my books with me.. sigh.. i don't wanna jinx myself.

Gotta study so i don't have to retake it... crunch time!

I haven't really studied much the whole week since it's Holy Week and I've been going to religious events most of the week. I had to go from church to church yesterday, and went back home around 11pm. Told you guys that I was going to take AAMC5 today but I have to delay it til tomorrow b/c it's Good Friday. Going to Church soon. Going to pray a lot.

Just took AAMC 7. I think I'm just gonna quit. No point of going forward

P6 V4 B5 = 15

Over the past 3 weeks or so:
AAMC 3= 16
AAMC 4= 24
AAMC 5= 18

EDIT: Damn, I was thinking I was having a crappy day, I go and check facebook after posting this post and I'm all sad and stuff from my low scores, and I see how my one friend from high school posted something about her mother's funeral arrangements. I'm never complaining about tests again, this is just a test.
