There should be some post-interview status changes today. I hope I get that 'Additional Correspondence' tab!

For those wondering about Fin Aid...I received my award letter a few days ago. I'm in-state and got it all in loans. About 70% Fed un-subsidized loans and 30% grad plus. Good luck to the rest of you! Also I only filled out FAFSA for UIC...no other information needed unless they specifically tell you so.

If you are post interview this cycle and did not hear back and status page states "Decision Pending"...is that a silent rejection heading your way? Or on Hold?

Default URMED or GMED

Has anyone heard anything from the URMED or GMED programs? They should be interviewing soon, right?

Default Hold, Reject, Accept

What does your status page say if you are rejected, does it even change? Is there a hold list for UofI?

hey everyone, i was just wondering if anyone with a 26 mcat has been accepted to UIC this app cycle?
I know my score is low for MD, but I decided to apply with the mindset that it would be a reach. I checked my application page and it still states "Applicant in Process". I feel that its gonna be a rejection soon enough....

I already interviewed for admission to the MD program on 2/29. This is specifically for their Urban Medicine "track" in Chicago. They offer a few tracks for those with specialized interests. There's also a Rural Medicine track, Global Medicine track, as well as a few others I think. Interviews for this program are conducted during the Second Look day, on 4/20.

Rural Medicine track (RMED) interviews were conducted over the course of two days in January. Just to let everyone know.

Subsidized loans are no longer available as of this coming academic year to any graduate or professional student. Part of the whole debt ceiling compromise.

I got mine via email, before I even got my acceptance packet by snail mail. And I believe so. How many are accepted after interview varies year to year.

Thoughts on whether getting accepted into the UMED program is worth the OOS tuition costs? I'm having a hard time deciding between schools... received invite for UMED interview yesterday. :T

So my status is "additional correspondence" but I have not yet received my letter or CBC email. Last night I got an email from the financial aid office with my student ID and info on the loans I qualified for. I'm guessing that's means I'm accepted right?? I don't want to be too optimistic...

Either it's a cruel joke or you are accepted. I'm guessing it's the latter. Just curious, when did your status change?

Default UMed Program and Residency?

Can anyone who is currently in the UMed program comment on their experience so far? What are some of the pros and cons?

Is the program focused on getting you into primary care fields, or is it common to still enter a specialty field? I read the info on the website about how 67% of students in UMed go into primary care vs 50% of non-UMed students, and was wondering if this program will limit my opportunities to enter specialty fields of medicine.

Any info on the program would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Accepted today via snail mail... now I'm torn about staying in Illinois or going to BU. Price of tuition isn't even that much different anymore.
Interviewed first week of March.

Edit: When I interviewed in March, they told me that the Chicago campus is already filled up. They told me to rank the schools, and then petition later on (closer to May) to try to "switch" to the Chicago campus. If I can't get into the Chicago campus, I will be withdrawing for sure.

So what do we have to do about immunization? I see on my status page that we have to send in a Hep B form, how do we go about doing that?

I went to my family doctor and she took titers (blood tests) to fill out the form. Or you can get a copy of your records from your University (but then I am not sure who fills out the form). There is an immunization form on the Admissions website.

So do we have to fill out the entire form or just Hep B? It just says Hep B on the status page.

I'm in the Army Health Professionals Scholarship Program, and I was Army ROTC for my ridiculously pricey undergraduate education. If anyone has any questions about the military (obligation, lifestyle, pay, etc.), I would be happy to answer. It is a great way to make money during med school while avoiding loans, but there is certainly a heavy cost, and it isn't for everyone. PM me if you have any questions.

Hi everyone... I'm going through my list of schools that haven't sent me an II or rejection yet. Can I assume this one is out? It appears that interview season is over. Thanks.
